Abstract/Summary:
The repair of bone defects is a important subject in the orthopaedic research. For a long time, autograft combined with allograft has been used in repair of bone defects. However, both methods have some drawbacks to each of them. As substitutes used for repairing bone defects, synthetic materials can possibly be devoid of these drawbacks. Although the synthetic materials may have the capacity of bone conduction, but their ability of bone induction is next to nothing. The bone defect repairing materials with the ability of bone induction can be obtained by combining biodegradable materials which has good biocompatibility and ability of bone conduction with osteoinductive BMP. While the regeneration of bone may take place rapidly, the grafted materials could be resorbed gradually and replaced by new bone. In this exprimental study, β -TCP as a material which is well biocompatible and degradable was used to combine with BMP, and the evaluation of the safety of the material was made. Furthermore, the research of ectopic bone induction and bone defects repairing was done, and the ability of bone repairing, degradation of the...
