It is well known that IAP is an immunosuppressive acidic protein which can be found in large quantity in the sera of cancer patients, but only small amount in the sera of the healthy persons- The characteristics of the purified immunosuppressive acidic protein between cancer patients and normal persons are quite different, such as their isoelectric point, molecular weight and bound carbohydrates. Many investigations revealed this itnmunosuppressive acidic protein possessed inhibitory effects on both phytohemogglutin induced lymphocytes transformation and mixed lymphocytes culture in vitro, and could cause mice thymus atrophy as well as increased the ability of suppressor T cell in vivo. Therefore it was termed immunosuppre—ssive acidic protein. We used two kinds of monoclonic antibodies against immunosuppressive acidic protein named as MI1 ,MI2 (prepared by medical department of our hospital, from ascitic fluid of ovary cancer patients, MI1 and MI2 corresponding to IgG and IgM respectively) and avidin-biotin complex (ABC) immunoper—...
