Different from tranditional Mendelian inheritance which indicates that gene is expressed from both alleles of parents and is not influenced by the parental origin of the allele, the inheritance pattern of genomic imprints provides insight into diagnosis and treatment of diseases. Genomic imprints undergo widespread reprogramming in the early embryonic stages in order to acquisite new imprints associated with sex .To date, about 60 imprinted genes have been identified and locate clusterly in certain areas of the genome which allow coordinated regulation by imprint control elements(ICE). Dysfunction in ICE can lead to aberrant expression of several imprinted genes and then induce inherited imprinting syndromes,as well as cancers.Assisted reproductive technology (ART) have revolutionized the treatment of infertility.ARTs account for between 1%~3% of births in many western countries and... | | Keywords/Search Tags: | Imprinted gene, Human preimplantation embryo, Assisted reproductive technology, Inherited imprinting desease, LOT1, ARHI, Epithelial ovarian cancer, Methylation | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
