The method of SPECT imaging analysis is influenced by many factors, such as: acquisition, attenuation and scatter correction, image reconstruction and organ motion. The imaging analysis can be proceeded only after a high quality image has been obtained. In this thesis, first, the basic factors influencing imaging quality were studied; second, the results of the above studies were applied to clinical practices.A. The basic factors were studied both in phantom tests and in patient examinations. The results indicated that:1. Conditions of acquisition: The FWHM of the step by step acquisition was smaller than that of the continuous acquisition, but the total counts of the former were smaller than those of the latter. The image distortion was smaller in 360-degree and 3-degree step acquisition, and it was smaller with 180-degree symmetric acquisition than with asymmetric acquisition. ECT table also caused image distortion and the degree of distortion was related to acquisition projection.2. Scatter correction: The contrast and percentage fraction standard deviation (FSD%) were the smallest using single energy symmetric window acquisition, the biggest using multi-energy- weighted window acquisition and in between using dual energy window acquisition. Although multi-energy-weighted window acquisition has more advantages than single and dual energy window acquisition,...
