Objective: (1)To find the cognitive functions and the personality traits in the people at high risk for schizophrenia. (2)To prove if the cognitive functions and the personality traits are the genetic endophenotype for schizophrnia. (3)To assess the association between the cognitive functions, some personality traits and some candidate genes in the population at high risk for schizophrenia. Methods: (1)190 individuals at high risk for schizophrenia, 331 normal controls were tested by information, arithmetic, digital symbol, digit span, block design, logical memory, visual memory, Stroop test, Trail making test A and B, verbal fluency, tower of HANOI, modified version of Wisconsin Card Sorting Tests, Continuous Performance Task(CPT) and the monotone counting task. (2) 188 individuals at high risk for schizophrenia, 321 normal controls were assessed by Schizotypal Personality Questionnaire(SPQ).(3) 181 individuals at high risk for schizophrenia, 321 normal controls were assessed by Tridimensional Personality Questionnaire (TPQ). (4) The association of five candidate genes(COMT, PRODH, DAT1, Pcdh and BDNF genes) and schizophrenia was tested by association analysis.
