Background Bats as an important kind species is helpful to people, they can harmonious coexist with human, however, bats was found as many zoonotic viruses hosts, including Hendra and Nipah viruses, which have recently emerged in Australia and East Asia, respectively. Bats may be persistently infected with many viruses but rarely display clinical symptoms.The serve acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) was first outbreak in Guangzhou. In spite of the early success of etiological studies and molecular characterization of this new virus, efforts to identify the origin of SARS-CoV have been less successful. The results of epidemical investigation and the SARS-liked virus was found in the masked palm civets (Paguma larvata) showed that the serve acute respiratory syndrome-associated coronavirus(SARS-CoV) may be come from wild animals. However, subsequent studies have revealed no widespread infection in wild or farmed civets.
