Nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) is one of the most common cancers in southern China and Southeast Asia. This cancer is prevalent in the southern part of China including Guandoing and Hunan Provinces (25-50/100,000) but less so among in western country, where incidence of NPC is less than 1/100,000, and the immigrant from southern China have more risk of NPC than native. The marked geographic and racial differences in incidence of NPC indicate that the development of this cancer must be related to special genetic and environmental factors. To date, most research about NPC were focused on single or several related genes or proteins, so it is very hard to know the whole change of DNA. Recently, some new technology such as comparative genome hybridization, microarray were adopted in the research NPC, but it still can not provide any information about the change level of protein. Another question is that information about protein modification, translocation and interaction with other proteins or bimolecules can not be known from DNA or mRNA. Thus, if the information on the whole changed protein can be integrated with the change information of DNA and mRNA, it will greatly help us to know more about NPC.Due to the especially anatomic localization and biological feature of NPC, the weight of NPC biopsy tissues normally is very small, it need to make the...
