To investigate the role of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (MSC) in pancreatic self-restoration and pathological regeneration mild and severe acute pancreatitis model in rat and mice was induced, the distribution and transdifferentiation of MSC to pancreas and other tissues both in physiological and pathological state were observed. The results indicated that the two models of experimental AP are simple and reliable with good reproducibility;MSC might be capable of distributing to pancreas and other tissues both in physiological and pathological state and provide prerequisite for differentiation into corresponding tissues; The bone marrow MSC participate in pancreatic self-restoration and pathological regeneration.;MSC play an important role in early severe acute pancreatitis complicated with multiple organ dysfunction, which can protect mouse pancreas, liver and gut from severe damage in the process of ESAP.
