| Shenshuai capsule has the function of invigorating the spleen and tonifying the kidney, removing dampness, clearing away toxic material and promoting blood circulation .This study investigated the mechanism of Shenshuai capsule treating CRF from many sides including clinical curative effect, animal experiment ,gene level, histopathology.Clinical study'150 cases were divided into 2 groups: 90 cases in the treatment group, treated with Shenshuai capsule, 10 pills taken orally, three times one day; 60 cases in the control group treated with Niaoduqing. Both of them were coordinated with common treatment for 1-6 months ,The curative effect and influence on blood"lipid,ET-1,NO were observed, Experimental study: The Wistar rats were fed with adenine to establish the chronic renal insufficiency anemia model, then they were divided into three groups and fed with Shenshuai capsule (high or low dosage)and Niaoduqing separately for 31 days, Then methods such as RIA , immunohistochemical method, and electron microscopy, etc. were adopted, The results showed:! Shenshuai capsule could improve the clinical symptoms, decrease BUN, Scr and urinary proteins within 24h,promote Hb, Ccr, regulate metabolic disorder of lipid, decrease serium inorganic phosphorus, enhance blood calcium. Clinical markedly effective rate was 52.22%,effective rate was 86.67%,and they are higher than control group (p<0.05).2 Shenshuai capsule could improve the pathologic status by inhibiting proliferation of the mesangial cell and its matrix, reduce the tubularinterstial injury.3 Shenshuai capsule could regulate cytokine, decrease level of ET-1 in patients, promote NO, decrease the expression in kidney of plasma TNF- a , TGF- ?, in CRF rats. 4 Shenshuai capsule had significant inhibitive effect on tubular epicyte apoptosis in Fas genetic expression and promotion of Bcl-2 genetic expression.
