The present study deals with the less investigated Chinese astacid and thalassinid (Crustacea: Decapoda) fauna based on about 1000 numbered specimens deposited in the Marine Biological Museum, Chinese Academy of Sciences (MBMCAS) in Qingdao. The specimens were collected from the China seas including the Bohai Sea, the Yellow Sea, the East and South China Seas. Materials were collections made by the National Comprehensive Oceanographic Survey (1958-1960), the China-Vietnam Comprehensive Oceanographic Survey of the Tonkin Gulf (1959-1960, 1962), the CAS Xisha Islands Marine Biological Investigation (1975-1980), the CAS Nansha Islands Multi-disciplinary Investigation(1985, 1987-2000) and a series of investigations of marine fauna and flora along the China coasts by the Institute of Oceanology, CAS, and Open Cruise CAS (2007-2009).The results of taxonomic and zoogeographic studies are presented. A total of 17 species of astacid (Infraorder Astacidea Latreille, 1802) belonging to 3 families and 5 genera and 80 species of thalassinid (Infraorder Axiidea de Saint Laurent, 1979a and Gebiidea de Saint Laurent, 1979b) belonging to 10 families and 34 genera are described, including 2 new genera, 22 new species, 1 new combination and 6 first records of China Seas. Among them 1 species is distributed in the Yellow Sea, 5 in the East China Sea, 11 in the South China Sea and 5 in waters eastern off Taiwan (astacid); 3 species distributed in Bohai Sea, 12 in Yellow Sea, 9 in the East China Sea, 43 in the South China Sea and 16 in waters eastern off Taiwan (thalassinid). Discussion on taxonomic problems and zoogeographic characteristics are made. All species researched in this study are listed as follows: those with an asterisk"*"recorded for the first time from Chinese waters,"**"new species,"***"new combination. .Infraorder Astacidea Latreille, 18021) Family Enoplometopidae de Saint Laurent, 19881.
