Under the computer network environment, combining the GPS(Global Position System) and radio, the specialized integration platform of hardware and software can be constructed to provide proprietary LBS (Location-based Services) for the industry application department with highly efficient spatial information services. Considering the urgent need of real-time spatial information services of the forest resources industry, this dissertation has analyzed the location based services and the difficult issues in forest industry, and solved the key technical problems of them, then using 3S(Remote Sense, Geographic Information System, Global Position System) integration technology, distributed computing technology, integrating of information technology and network communication technology, the prototype platform of the location based services (LBS) for the forest resources management was rearched and constructed which has met the requirements of the main businesses in study area in positioning accuracy and real-time data acquisition, etc, and has achieved good application results. This dissertation has done research in the following fields and has achieved remarkable result:1,Using the system analysis method to study and put forward the general technology framework for construction of the LBS platform for the forest resources management:There are many businesses related to position services in the forest resources management, in which the forest fire prevention business and pest monitoring business need the real-time spatial information services urgently, but it is difficult to sustain the high value-added services outlay of the LBS provided by the Mobile communications sector. Having made full analysis of the technical foundation in forest industry, this paper puts forward the technical framework for construction of LBS flatform for forest industry with the distributed computing as a core and ultrashort wave radio as a carrier. And the framework has been applied in a initial construction of the zero-cost running prototype LBS flatform for forest industry in the study area, and the above problem has been solved in this better solution.2,Using the interdisciplinary technologies of GIS(Geographic Information System) and MIS(Management Information System), studying on the metadata description standard for LBS spatial data of the forest resources management and the automatic modeling technology:LBS application system provids services using MIS as portal environment, the traditional MIS modeling tools can easily build relational data model, but it can not establish a spatial data model. This paper has focused on the spatial data relate to LBS for the forest resource management and proposed a reference standards of metadata description for them, so as to research and develop automatic modeling tools for most of the spatial data according to the meta-data description to establish the corresponding spatial data model automatically. Therefore, a general description reference standard of the spatial and its modeling tools were provided for the construction and operation of the LBS prototype flatform, the system migration, data acquisition and exchange transplantation etc.3,Using the methods of system analysis, comparative analysis and combining the theory and practice, studying on the integration technology of the LBS for forest resources management:The efficient computing and scheduling of the resources of hardware and software has been the key problem of the successful construction of LBS platform. This paper proposed the integrated technology solutions of the distributed computing mailly based on the Corba / CCM(Corba Component Model) standard, and the industry-specific middlewares and related components of LBS for the forestry industry have been rearched and developed in distributed computing environments, providing granular level component integration mode with a good resource scheduling features, seamlessly integrated the existing communications and positioning equipment of forestry industry at the bottom of systems, integrating the of terminals communication protocol and the IP communication protocol of computer, instant executing and completing the the entire process of spatial data acquisition, processing, storage and distribution. Therefore, the initial foundation was laid for construction of real-time or quasi-real-time LBS platform.4,Using multi-layer model to study construction technology of the LBS system for forestry industry:In this paper, the software organization structure of the forest LBS prototype system were proposed, taking the LBS system construction in study area as an example, the construction flow of LBS system, the applicatioin solutions of key technologies and the main LBS functions design and implementation model were researched.Using of key technology research achievements, the LBS platform and its prototype system were built very successfully for forest resources management, and had been applied in forest fire prevention, old trees positioning, and pest monitoring businesses. Application practice shows that the prototype system and forestry LBS platform perform stable, good results in positioning accuracy, response speed and the efficiency of acquisition and update the spatial data, and achieved the desired results. This paper is innovated in the fields as follows:1,Using cluster synchronization mechanisms and distributed computing software organizational structure, the service components were researched and developed for this industry, made sustainable and scalable integrated technology system, transformed the traditional mode of the information network which was inefficient in the use of hardware resources, but weak in the intensity of services and in the data throughput;2,It put forward metadata describe reference of the LBS, researched and developed spatial data modeling and updated tools, ran in a distributed environment, and established a highly efficient resources management and an updated modle to provide online update functions under Web environment, transformed traditional WebGIS which was limited to publish or browse the data and some other limits;3,Between the operation system and the application, client and server, it researched and developed the application middleware and related components for the industry, provided granular integrated model to transform the traditional defects which was poor in the compatibility of integration between different GIS software;4,Combining GPS and radio stations, a zero cost running LBS platform was built.
