Visualization technology is extremely important in human-computer interface of power system. So far, visualization technology has been used in many areas of power system. Through transferring many types of data to the graphics or images which are more easy-to-understand, utilizing visualization technology reduces the burden of monitoring work. Moreover, it makes a contribution to making the power system running well. With the interconnection and continuous expansion of the power system, there is more information need to be monitored. The role of visualization technology is being prominent increasingly.The current research of visualization focused on the introduction of new visual display styles, or the improvements of the visual styles which has been applied. However, some related issues of visualization technology lacks attentions, such as coordination of views. Such problems have a certain impact on the results of visualization. It needs to be studied.In addition, compared to the visualization of grid operating status visualization, research on visualization of power plant DCS has been slow. However, as the electricity providers of whole power system, the power plant plays a very important role. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen the research on visualization of power plant DCS to research.The work is divided into basic theoretical researches and applied theoretical researches, as follows:In the basic theoretical researches, the human-computer interface of DCS is summarized as a focus. On this basis, this paper analysis in-depth, and ultimately makes a specific demand analysis of human-computer interface of DCS in accordance with the characteristics of the operators' work.Some related issues of power system visualization are analyzed. Input of view, collaboration of views and layout of view are presented and analyzed separately. Moreover, the design features are presented to some extent, which leads to the follow-up article.After studying the collaboration of views deeply, a new concept coupled multi-screen display is presented. This technology emphasizes the coupling relationship among the screens, which means the sub-screen updates its display contents with the changing of the main-screen's display. Moreover, expanding the vision for operating the same task in more screens diverts the data effectively. The coupled multi-screen display technology is analyzed theoretically, and the results of this technology using in power system are described.In the applied theoretical researches, the concept balloon tip is presented, and used for displaying the operating status of power plants. The contents needed to be showed in DCS system are divided to three types objects data points, specific equipment, alarm points. Moreover, the balloon tip display mode is designed, and the electronic module is added to the balloon tip as a function. The simulation applications prove that the balloon tips are flexible, and can display more information in a limited display space, reduce the complexity of the operation window. Using the balloon tip improves the human-computer interface of DCS system effectively.Based on the coupled multi-screen display, correlated multi-screen display is presented through further development. Correlated multi-screen display creates different correlations based on the association relationship, such as object-correlated, information- correlated, inheritance- correlated and completely correlated.Based on the basic theoretical researches, the concept correlated multi-screen display is used in power plant. Moreover, the principle and realization are analyzed and studied. Based on the correlated multi-screen display and balloon tip, power plant operating status is presented. This research makes a useful exploration for power plant monitoring work.To sum up, the article makes deeper research on the power system visualization related issues and its applications in power plants. The basic theoretical researches have enriched the study content of power system visualization, which provide the theoretical basis for further develop and improve power system visualization; the applied theoretical researches provide the technical support for the extension of visualization techniques in power plants' DCS , the practical application should help to improve the monitoring level of power plants.
