Conbined with the National Research Project for the Tenth Five-year Plan of "Key Technology in Housing System and Quality Control Support", several key scientific problems such as elastoplastic damage constitutive model for concrete, stochastic structural analysis as well as structural ductile analysis have been included in this paper for the comprehensive nonlinear damage analysis of short-pier shear wall specimens. In order to reduce the intractable shear locking effect, a macro triangular partition shell element is formed with three individual sub-triangular domains. In virtue of the user subroutines UEL (user defined element) and UMAT (user defined material) integrated into engineering general-purpose simulation tool, ABAQUS, successful nonlinear analyses have been obtained with the combination of macro triangular partition shell element and damage energy release rate-based elastoplastic damage constitutive model for concrete. Two classical experiments, one-way Jain-Kennedy concrete slab and two-way McNeice concrete slab, have been presented to illustrate the efficacy of macro triangular partition shell element in describing nonlinear damage behaviors of plate and shell structures. In virtue of the yielding of coupling beams earlier than that of wall panels, a new-type aseismic structure—short-pier shear wall structure with twin coupling beams has been introduced as the test model for the subsequent nonlinear analysis.Based on the damage energy release rate-based elastoplastic damage constitutive model for concrete, this paper has carried out a numerical simulation of two short-pier shear wall specimens with similar size ranges and reinforcement layouts. In virtue of structural stress and logarithmic strain distributions at typical displacement levels, the present study has disclosed the redistribution process of internal forces in a real and vivid way, and therefore set up a brand-new nonlinear analytical mode from constitutive model to structural responses.Based on the probability density evolution method and the elastoplastic damage...
