The rock slope displacement that is calculated using classical rock mechanical theory is much smaller than the actual displacement. One of the main reasons which make prediction of rock slope displacement incorrect is that mechanical parameters can not be acquired correctly. Back analysis is a method that can acquire the rock mechanical parameters. First, a deduction calculating model and an objective function are established. Then find the global minimum value of the objective function by using optimization methods. The mechanical parameters correspond with function which have the minimum value are the equivalent rock mechanical parameters. The displacement back analysis method was put forward in 70s of 20 century and has been developed over thirty years. At present the method becomes the powerful analysis tool to solve the problems of geotechnical engineering because of its uniqueness. It is much more emphasized by scholars and engineers. Based on back analysis of rock slope displacement by using artificial neural network and genetic algorithm, another back analysis method which combined with immunization, genetic algorithm and artificial neural network is put forward. In this dissertation the main original work includes:â‘ Effects of rock mass basic mechanical parameters, physical parameters, slope geometric feature and structure surface parameters on rock slope deformation are studied through numerical analysis. Therefore, the main factors which influent rock slopes displacement significantly are acquired. These factors are the basis of displacement back analysis.â‘¡Rock slope deformation is calculated and the features of slope deformation are discussed. Using uniform testing design, the numerical simulations of rock slope deformation are implemented with varies parameters by finite element method. The change character of rock slope displacement is studied. Meanwhile, training samples are made that can be used in displacement back analysis method.â‘¢Us an artificial neural network that substitute for numerical simulation to predict displacements of slope's character points.â‘£The artificial intelligent methods such as artificial neural network, genetic algorithm, immunization genetic ANN are discussed to solve the problem of rock displacement back analysis. Merits and drawbacks are generalized comparing with these methods.
