With the aim to heat transfer enhancement for convective heat transfer surface of marine boiler, theoretical and experimental researches on several types of heat transfer enhancement elements are preseneted in this paper.At first, a brief introduction of background of this paper is given, and the recent research and development trend for heat transfer enhancement techniques, including extended surfaces and inside-tube coil inserts, and comprehensive thermodynamic performance analysis and evaluation of the heat transfer enhancement elements are reviewed.In order to enhance the technique performance of relevant e(?)uipment of marine boiler, the experimental peocess and results about heat transfer and pressure drop characteristics of inside —tube coil inserts are extensively studied. On the basis, a new structure optimization method for inside — tube coil inserts, which can be used to offer design and application conference, is developed, and then the mitigating soot mechanism of inside — tube coil inserts is discussed and analysed.In odrer to develop heat transfer enhancement technique for marine boiler, a new type high pin fin extended surface is extensively studied. The local simulation experimental method is employed to study heat transfer and pressure drop characteristics of the pin fin tubes, which including cross flow one row/one pin fin tube, in-line array pin fin tubes bundle and longitudinal flow pin fin casing—tube heat exchanger. On this basis, the experimental corrlations of these pin fin heat transfer enhancement tubes are obtained, thereby providing valuable data for relevant industrial design and application of these pin fin tubes.In order to design and optimum analysis of pin fin extended suface,...
