Being developed for many years, the steel structure residential buildings are increasingly maturing in the developed countries, but in our country, it is at the stage of beginning. With the relevant policies being offered by the government, which will promote the development of steel structure residential building, the study and practice of the steel structure residential system has being gradually carried out. This article will provide the study to the structure behavior of the steel frame-concrete tube residential system. The contents mainly focus on the following aspects:1. By the finite element method, having analyzed the integral performance (such as the internal force under the static load, dynamic characteristic and dynamic response) of the multistory steel frame-concrete tube residential system under the different combination connection types, such as beam-column pin joint, beam-column rigid joint, beam-tube pin joint, beam-tube rigid joint, and get some relevant conclusions.2. In multistory steel frame-concrete tube residential system, the character and behavior of the connections, such as column-column connection, beam-beam connection, beam-column connection, column footing and steel frame beam-concrete tube connection, have been analyzed. The design methods of these connections have been discussed.3. Through the emulation static force experiments of nine pieces, which include four beam-column connections: out-extended end panel connection, T-type steel connection, Top and Seat Angle Steel connection and dog-bone connection. By these experiments, the limit load, limit moment, limit rotation, demolition type, ductility and the consuming energy capacity of the each under the low period-recapitulate load, have been observed and the problems arising from the experiments yet have been analyzed.4. For instance of the out-extended end panel, having analyzed the calculation method to how the bolts were loaded in the semi-rigid end panel connection, and having introduced the design crux relation to the different demolition principles.5. Taking the nine beam-column connection joints in the experiment study asthe archetype, having done the finite element analysis and obtained the P- curves and the stress distributing situation when it come into the plastic deformation. In accordance with the calculation consequences, the influence of the end slab's thickness (the flange thickness of the T-type steel and the thickness of the angle steel) to the connection capacity to out-extended end slab (T-type steel connection , top and seat angle steel connection) and the notable problems arising from the dog-bone connection joint designs have been analyzed.6. Having studied the accessory materials of the steel frame-concrete tube residence, and combined the engineering practice and analyzed this system's economic performance. Finally, coming out some unresolved problems on the basis of concludingthe whole paper's works.
