This paper done deepgoing theoretical studies on the nonlinear dynamical analysis of Tension Leg Platform(TLP) in waves based on reasonable mathematical model, revealed some important phenomenon, and gave out integral analysis theories and computational method. The main parts of the paper are as follows:1. It studied several basic problem of "freak wave", got some ocean areasin China where the freak wave should be found out more likely, analyses its waveform according to the record of freak wave. It brings forwards the suggestion that its approximate wave force on building may be got by means of remodeling Stokes wave.2. It simplified the TLP as vertical floating arrays, did some work about second-order nonlinear diffraction wave force on TLP. Based upon the hypothesis of ideal fluid, it derived out general wave force formulas using semi-analysis method. Computation of first-order wave force was simplified, and second-order wave force included second diffraction of second-order incident wave.3. It studied the radiation problem of TLP, and paid attention to the computation of added mass and added damping about TLP which cylinders are set as regular polygon. This study took couplings between different frequencies and movement modes into account, and neglected the effect on water of caisson's movement.4. This paper studied TLP's motion under wave force, got its nonlinear kinetic equations and simplified computation formulas of yaw rigidity coefficients, analysed yaw free frequency with different pre-tension and yaw kinetic respondence under different wave forces.5.The writer made three computation programs for wave force, added mass and added damping, TLP's kinetic respondence.6. It also studied general variation regularities of wave force, added mass and added damping, TLP's kinetic respondence based on engineering examples and got some valuable conclusions(see text).
