Suspendome structure with cast steel joints as the node of upper lattice shell structure has been chosen for the roof of Changzhou Stadium through optimization of the three possible designs schemes: tube truss structure, latticed shell structure and suspendome structure. Theoretical analysis has been carried out for the static properties and stability of suspendome structure, as much as examination of its seismic performance.The dissertation attempts to classify, compare and summarize, for the first time, brands, chemical ingredients and mechanic properties of different cast steel joints used universally in order to make contribution to the establishment of regulations for building cast steel joints.This dissertation categorizes cast steel joints according to their components and forms, with the aim of developing respective computational formula to precisely calculate the internal force of various joint categories.Cast steel joints can work in the elastic-plastic phase, which can be analyzed with the Structure Elastic-Plastic Finite Element Theory. The finite element analysis of cast steel tubular joints in different load case was carried out by using finite element analysis software ANSYS, the stress distribution and the maximum stress of the joints show that , the joints can meets the safe operation requirements of cast steel joints.In order to verify the accuracy of theoretical calculation, An experimental research was carried out for the cast steel joints in regard of various aspects, such as test piece manufacturing, transportation, test installations, instrument, and test planning, etc. After analyzing experimental results and theoretical calculation errors, It is proved that theoretical calculation can satisfy the requirement for application accuracy.
