Wetland due to its own landscape features, as well as the maintenance of biological species and many other functions, is an important land resources and natural resources, must be protected. Therefore, this section of highway construction uses a stone composite pier foundation technology, which is relatively new in recent years. The mechanism is not yet very clear and the design theory is not perfect. So it is necessary to give an in-depth study about it.This paper studies the bearing characteristics, consolidation and settlement, as well as seepage of the composit foundation, combined with the traditional theory, using geotechnical engineering special software FLAC3D.It includes:First:This paper analysis the influencing factors of the limit bearing capacity of the soil and the stone piers. From the pier-soil stress ratio changes with the load to determine the reason of damage of composite foundation,that is, whether the soil or pier damage caused destruction of composite foundation.Second:Under embankment load, settlement control is very important. This article does a numerical simulation analysis to solve how to reduce the average settlement of composite foundation;Third:The article uses numerical means to analysis the consolidation process of composite pier foundation. Compared with the original foundation, it shows that the existence of stone piers can accelerate the consolidation rate of soft soil.
