A method for analysis of organic sulfur compounds in liquid hydrocarbon, by Selectiveenrichment and chemical treatment combining with gas chromatography-flamephotometric detection (GC-FPD) and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS),was described in this paper. Through the method for enrich organic sulfur compounds inhydrocarbon using acid extracting agent and n-hexane, sulfides and thiophene derivativesare extracted into n-hexane by the method that enrich sulfur compounds to be more than 12times the concentration of total sulfur in gasoline. Sulfides and thiophene derivatives inenriched sample are easy to be analyzed with gas chromatography-flame photometricdetection (GC-FPD) and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) because ofhigh sulfur concentration and less hydrocarbon interference. As to the enriched sample ofgasoline we study, 52 kinds of sulfur compounds were detected with GC-FPD, 14structures of sulfur compounds (Sulfides and thiophene derivatives) were identified withGC-MS.The method for analysis and group-type identification of sulfur compounds inhydrocarbon was used in this paper. Separation and detection was provided by gaschromatography-pulsed flame photometric detection (GC-PFPD). Chemical treatmentusing 3 group-selective reactions was carried out for classification of the peaks. Analysis ofgasoline samples using this method showed: The major type of sulfur-containingcompounds in gasoline is thiophene derivative followed by alkyl sulfide and mercaptan.Several polymeric materials with sweetening activity were prepared and studied.Copper(â…¡) carboxymethylcellulose, the material which open up good applicable vista, wasdiscovered and its sweeten mechanism was studied too. Copper(â…¡) carboxymethylcellulosewas prepared with sodium carboxymethylcellulose and copper sulphate in aqueous solution.Sweetening properties of copper(â…¡) carboxymethylcellulose in liquid hydrocarbon wasstudied using benzinum containing 96ug/g n-Propyl mercaptan and 16ug/g thiophene as amodel hydrocarbon solution. Mercaptan in the model solution could be cleaned out under24h-1 space velocity in room temperature. Sweeten capacity of copper(â…¡)carboxymethylcellulose is 925 mL/g for the model hydrocarbon solution and 1.86 mmol/gfor mercaptan. Copper(â… ) that reduced from copper(â…¡) was found in saturated cuprumcarboxymethylcellulose material by XPS. Dipropyl disulfide, the oxidation product ofn-Propyl mercaptan, was detected in the model solution after sweetening by GC-PFPD.The sweetening mechanism of copper(â…¡) carboxymethylcellulose was confirmed as an oxidation reduction process.Several kinds molecule with different specific structure were used for chemicalmodification of polystyrene by grappling with "N-substituted Sulfonamide" or "N-substituted methylamine". Several polymeric materials with desulfurization activity wereprepared and studied. A new adsorptive resin, N, N-di(2-chloroethyl)sulfonamide resin, was synthesized by modification of sulfuric acid resin with di(2-chloroethyl)amine.Adsorption effect and selectivity of the adsorptive resin on organic sulfides was studiedusing hydrocarbon sample and GC-PFPD. The adsorption experiment showed: Theadsorptive resin has defferent adsorption activities on defferent sulfides, which was thehighest on primary mercaptan, followed by secondary thiophene mercaptan, sulfur ethersand benzothiophene. Adsorption activity of Another new adsorptive resin, N,N-di[2-(N'-morpholinyl)ethyl]sulfonamide resin, is more than 10 times stronger onthiophene derivatives than on mercaptans and sulfur ethers.
