Loss of nitrogen from agricultural systems is an economic detriment for producers. To the environment, nitrate in the groundwater is a health hazard. The scientists from all over the world are committing themselves on improving the utilization of nitrogen fertilizer and decreasing the nitrogen loss of farmland. The nitrogen loss of farmland affects seriously the quality of inhabitant drinking water, the normal function of city ecological system, the quality and security of crop products it will also threaten directly the health of inhabitant. In order to form a scientific and rational nitrogen fertilizer structure and prescription in the fields of wheat and vegetable, the feature and control technology of upland nitrogen loss were carried out in upper water source conservation zone of Huangpu River, Shanghai, China.
