Hailaer basin is one of the key regions of petroleum exploration in China. It is a faulted-depressed basin with complex reservoir forming conditions and oil-water distribution. And it is hard to evaluate oil-water layers in the basin. This paper took prominent geochemical logging effectively used practically in recent years as the core, through improving the existing geochemical logging technologies and reestablishing new geochemical logging evaluation technologies, for the purpose of providing advanced and efficient new technologies suitable for complex oil- water layer evaluation in petroleum exploration to meet production requirements. On the basis of basic geochemical evaluation studies and quantitative processing of data, new comprehensive evaluation technologies were established in this paper, which took geochemistry as the core and applied gas logging, fluorescence images and logging data comprehensively. And the technologies were applied in petroleum exploration practice successfully. This paper has obtained some achievements and innovations as follows.(1) Researches on response experiment of geochemical chromatography and oil-water in reservoir and response mechanism were carried out systematically. The results show that logging resistivity is affected by many factors and has poor correlation with oiliness. This paper demonstrated the effectiveness of geochemical parameters and theoretically expounded that geochemical logging was the most effective interpretation technology in Hailaer basin.(2) Quantitative processing technology of well logging data was created. Quantitative characterization of geochemical chromatography and automatic processing technology were established by use of mathematics and computer technology. Taking pyrolysis, light hydrocarbon, saturated hydrocarbon and gas logging as a whole, we set up hydrocarbon loss geochemical analysis and recovery-correction technology with neural network.(3) Interpretation technical means were enriched. This paper established parameter chart of saturated hydrocarbon and light hydrocarbon and realized fine interpretation of geochemical chromatography. At the same time, this paper also increased the application of fluorescence images and gas logging data, improved individual evaluation technology of well logging, and made a larger breakthrough theoretically and technically.(4) Comprehensive evaluation technology of complex oil-water layers was developed. This paper optimized key parameters of reservoir fluid and productivity evaluation, improved comprehensive evaluation chart and formed core technology of discrimination of reservoir produced fluid property. On the basis of internal relations between static petroleum geological reserves of single well and reservoir productivity, we designed calculation model for the evaluation of oil layer productivity by use of logging data, developed quantitative evaluation method of oil layers in Hailaer basin, realized technological leapfrogging from quantitative judgment to quantitative evaluation, and formed alternative technology in logging industry. In recent years, this new technology has been applied in 73 wells in Hailaer basin, whose interpretation accuracy reached 95.0%, and made a significant contribution in the increasing of over a hundred million tons of proved reserves in Hailaer basin. Quantitative processing technology of well logging data established in this paper not only greatly improved the level of fine processing and interpretation evaluation skill of complex oil-water layers, but also fully tapped the potential of logging data and led the progress of core technology in logging industry. Reservoir productivity forecast technology with a very practical significance which established in this paper provided reference approach for future research on quantitative evaluation technology and broadened new research ideas for obtaining reservoir evaluation parameters.
