Operation condition of large-scale systems concerns directly lots of major issues suchas economic development,social progress,people's lives,national security,stability in theworld and ecological environment.At present,therefore,under circumstances that the entireworld is facing a serious situation of imbalanced development of population,economy,society,environment and resources,it is a realistic significant issue in the course ofrealizing global social sustainable development to research and get a grasp of dynamicoperation mechanism of large-scale systems at all levels and in all fields,and assurehigh-effective,stable and balanced development among the systems and links of them.The major objects of this paper are large-scale systems.The main line is sustainableand balanced development ofpopulation-economy-society-resources(energy)-environment.Theoretical basis is an interdiscipline of Cybernetics,Synergetics and Dissipative StructureTheory.This paper explored universal laws of synergy evolution of complicated large-scalesystems with attempt of constructing mechanisms of synergistic formation,synergisticrealization and synergistic evaluation of material flow,energy flow and information flow inlarge-scale systems.(1) This paper attempted to apply the terms driving force,resistance and exergy inGeneralized Thermodynamics to study and analyze flowing network structure of materialflow,energy flow and information flow in large-scale systems and their fundamentalcharacteristics in flowing process,and established hierarchical network structure.It isbelieved that material flow,energy flow and information flow have some fundamentalcharacteristics such as negotiability,hierarchy,pertinence and exergy property.On the basismentioned above,this paper came up with a common mathematic description of materialflow,energy flow and information flow in large-scale systems;(2) With adoption of self-organization theory,such as Synergetics,Dissipative StructureTheory and systems' orderliness,synergistic relation and mechanism of material flow,energy flow and information flow in large-scale systems were analyzed.This paper thinksthat internal and external impetuses cause system's evolution from disorder to order andthen from primary order to advanced order,which are related to material flow,energy flowand information flow of the system.External impetus derives from exchanges of material,energy and information between the system and the outside,while internal impetus derives from exchanges of material,energy and information among elements,links and subsystemsinside the system.Synergistic movements of material flow,energy flow and informationflow,guided by information flow,lead to formation of certain synergistic effect amongelements,links and subsystems in the large-scale system,and then certain ordered structureof the large-scale system at specified time and space for particular function and objective;(3) This paper tried to bind Cybernetics,Synergetics and Dissipative Structure Theorytogether,studied large-scale systems' mechanism of synergistic realization from respects ofboth hard control and soft control,and structured a bi-level hierarchical synergy controlsystem based on information flow feedback mechanism.In synergistic control systems,regenerative and degenerative feedback and proper selection of order parameters insidesystems and control parameters outside systemswould help sub-systems of material flow,energy flow and information flow synergize targeted at keeping total entropy change minuszero.Finally,on the basis of realizing synergy of subsystems,large-scale systems'synergization,ordering and optimization would be achieved;(4) Respectively from different angels of negotiability,order parameter or entropy,threesynergistic evaluation models were established for material flow,energy flow andinformation flow.The synergistic evaluation model based on negotiability is easilyunderstood,but difficult on quantization in practice;The one based on order parameterrelatively accurately reflects connotation of systems' synergy and has less difficulties onmodel solving in computational process,but it is hard to select appropriate order parameter;In view of systems' structure orderliness and function orderliness,the one based on entropyis more comprehensive,scientific and accurate,but computational process is complicated;(5) At last taking iron and steel industry as example,this paper studied synergisticformation mechanism,synergistic realization mechanism and synergistic evaluationmechanism of material flow,energy flow and information flow in this industry withconclusion that iron and steel enterprises are going to evolve in direction toinformationization,greenization and ecological environment friendly.Wherein synergydegrees of the industry in 2001-2006 were evaluated,results dovetailed nicely with realdevelopment trend of this industry.
