According to the isotopes and hydrochemistry components in groundwater with the character of having rich information on water cycle, this paper did some comprehensive analysis, qualitative judgment and quantitative analysis by the methods of isotope hydrology, traditional hydrology and hydrogeochemistry. On the basis of the understanding on background of this study area and particular analysis of the space structure and the flow character of the basin groundwater system, and with emphasis on application isotopes, hydrochemistry tracing function and Radiometric Dating Method, this paper identified recharge, run off and drainage mechanism of Songnen plain; estimate the speed of groundwater updating and give reasonable suggestions on groundwater utilizing so that this paper could give a basis for drawing Songnen plain groundwater resource sustainable development strategy.Based on the study above, people could draw the conclusions that: the recharge resource of Songnen plain Quaternary pore phreatic water is precipitation and the runoff recharge of the mountain and high plain. The recharge period of groundwater is almost 50 years. The circulate depth of low-lying areas is 50 m, and it is 100 m of the piedmont. The recharge strength is 126 mm/a and groundwater retort time is less than 50 years with a better renewability. The total trend of groundwater flow is from the mountain of eastern, northern and western to the basin and the Songnen basin region's groundwater drainage center formed in confluence of the second Songhua River and Nenjiang.Quaternary contemporary confined water mostly accepts side unconfined water recharge of hills and piedmont sector plain and northern and eastern high plain. Several recharge strength is 6.2 mm/s and it is with certain renewability. The model of 14C water's age is 5-10KaBP and the renewability of groundwater is weaker. The total trend of the confined water is southwestern and the confined water discharges to the unconfined water in the river valley as underground runoff.The recharge source of the Tertiary Taikang and Daan comes from the underground runoff of northern and western piedmont and eastern high plain. Exceptfor finding contemporary recharge around the piedmont plain and near eastern high plain, the groundwater in Taian and Daan aquifer mostly is ancient recharge. Contemporary water' s average recharge strength is 2.8 mm/a. These two aquifers' groundwater flows slowly and has very weak renewability. The age of groundwater in the center of low plain is 11-23 KaBP.
