Eco-water is defined as a transformation of precipitation, which is deposited byvegetation layer, humificated vegetation layer and soil layer. Composed of theselayers and centered with vegetation layer, Eco-water layer is able to interceptprecipitation and then feed river or groundwater reservoir. It plays an important role inthe water-cycle system. According to ecology, botany, geo-hydrology,forest-hydrology and quantitative remote sensing technology, the dissertation takesMaoergai district of upper Minjiang River as a study area, and systematicallyinvestigates the Eco-water (layer) function, distributing character and dynamictransformation from four-dimensional space. The dissertation constructs the inversionmodel of Eco-water (layer) information indices, and searches after the theoretics andmethod for quantitative study of the Eco-water (layer) resources. It has the significantscience meaning and practicality value.Main development and innovation in this paper as follows:(1) As potential factors on Eco-water and Eco-water layer are different from oneseason to another, multi-temporal and multi-type remote sensing data, measuredspectrum and the routine observation were applied to constrct the indices forEco-water. The four Eco-water indices, including Vegetation Canopy InterceptionContent, Vegetation Water Content Index, Soil Moisture Index and Eco-water StorageIndex, were calculated.(2) By inversing the leaf area index and vegetation coverage degree, VegetationCanopy Interception Content is calculated. The validated results show that theVegetation Canopy Interception Content is closely related with precipitation, vegetation type and vegetation coverage degree.(3) Comparing the correlation some spectrum indices with Vegetation WaterContent, the SR spectrum index is selected as the character parameter to construct theinformation model of Vegetation Water Content. The results of analyzing the measuredata and simulation data indicate that the model is sensible and its inversionconsequence is reasonable.(4) The soil moisture model is constructed based on soil moisture spectrum. The inversion model was validated with the measure data, the environment investigationdata in 2000 and others research achievement data. The results show that the RSinformation model can reflect the real soil moisture.(5) The dissertation primarily constructs the remote sensing informationinversion model of Eco-water Storage Index, and quantificationally calculates theEco-water by multi-temporal and multi-type remotely sensed image data. Thesynthetically evaluation shows the model can veritably reflect the space distributingcharacteristic of the Eco-water.Eco-water is a key to maintain the Eco-environment well, and it is difficult toobtain its resource quantities by normal methods. The dissertation brings forward theEco-water Remote Sensing quantitative study based on vegetation layer. Thevegetation-based calculation model for Eco-water with quantitative remote rensingtechnology, which has been identified in the dissertation, possesses significant scienceaffect and practical value; and it can not only advance the methods ofEco-environment study, but also promote the research on water-resourcestransformation and water-cycle, also enlarge the domains of remote sensingapplications.
