The reservoir area of the Three Gorges is the area where geographic catastrophes, such as sliding, collapsing and mudflow have been frequently happening. Once the Project will have completed and begun water storage, the periodic water-level fluctuation as high as 30m in a year will definitely cause one hundred times stronger influence and change on the banks. The threat can lead to a decrease of whole stability of slope rocks, which will accelerate the sliding process. So, we are now confronted with an inevasible, realistic problem to solve and research. According to the concerned fact, the research on stability control of slope rocks in the reservoir area has a very important realistic significance. The dissertation consists of seven chapters in all.Chapter one(The Conspectus) makes an introduction about the domestic and overseas research progress in slope stability analysis, slope destabilizing time forecasting, rock creeping mechanics and application of non-linear science theory in slope stability analysis. The chapter also schemes the research content.Chapter two describes the geographic and geological features of the Reservoir Area, then explores the creeping mechanics and types in this area, the creeping geological patterns, and researches the self-organizing critical features in large-scale landslide as well.Chapter three includes of a curve experiment of different saturated sandrocks'stress-strain process under uniaxial and triaxial compressions. According to the specific transformation in rock mass, the experimental results help improve the Duncan Model of rock constitutive relation.Chapter four theoretically explores the yield stress in various rock transformation caused by load and how to figure out it in real engineering rock mass. By using creeping equation, the author found the criterion of destabilization in creeping damage and the calculating equation respectively to identify the specific creeping phase and forecast the initial destabilizing time. In this way, the author brings up a 2-step Calculating Method in the destabilization of rock creep damage.Chapter five demonstrates the method identifying the parameters in rock creeping, especially the one using Kaiser Effect to figure out ground stress. In the case of the slope at Zaiba of Yunyan, CQ, a 3D-σnumerical analysis programme is used to analyze its stability under the condition of being loaded with tectonic stress. Depending on the...
