Clinical Observation On The Therapeutic Effect Of Piqinxiaozao Decoction In The Treatment Of Acne Vulgaris With Wind-heat Syndrome Of Lung Meridia

Object:Acne vulgaris is a common chronic inflammatory disease that involves the sebaceous glands of hair follicles.It has a high incidence,is disfiguring,has a long course and is prone to recurrence.Professor Jin Qifeng is one of the first famous veteran Chinese medicine doctors in China with unique academic experience and technical expertise.He has rich practical experience and unique techniques in the treatment of dermatological diseases,and specializes in the use of Chinese medicine to treat common and difficult dermatological diseases.Prof.Jin believes that acne patients mostly have a strong Yang body,internal blood heat,and a preference for spicy and thick flavors,which can lead to heat toxicity over time.Based on his years of clinical experience,Loquat Baicalin Anti-Acne Soup is based on Loa and Scutellaria Clear Lung Drink,which is mainly used to clear heat and detoxify the lung,cool the blood and remove blood stasis,and is clinically used for the treatment of common acne in the form of wind-heat in the lung meridian.STUDY OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the clinical efficacy of Baicalin Anti-Acne Soup in treating lung meridian wind-heat syndrome of common acne.METHODS:The subjects were patients with common acne with wind-heat evidence in the lung meridian who attended Dongzhimen Hospital of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine,and were randomly divided into treatment and control groups.The treatment group was treated orally with Baicalin and Anti-Acne Soup,and the control group was treated orally with Tanshinone Capsules,and the treatment course for both groups was 4 weeks.The patients completed the Acne-Quality of Life(Acne-QoL)and Cardiff Acne Disability Index(CADI)scales at each visit,and the number of skin rashes and acne grading system were recorded.The number of rashes,Global Acne Grading System(GAGS)scores and TCM evidence scores were recorded,and the scores and clinical efficacy of the two groups before and after treatment were compared and analyzed.RESULTS:In this study,52 cases were completed,including 27 subjects in the treatment group and 25 subjects in the control group,and after 4 weeks of treatment,the lesions in both the treatment and control groups showed significant improvement compared to those before treatment.After 4 weeks of treatment,the skin lesions in both the treatment and control groups showed significant improvement compared to the pre-treatment period.After 4 weeks of treatment,the effective rate was 92.59%in the treatment group and 72.00%in the control group,and the difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P<0.001),in which the skin lesions improved significantly in the treatment group compared with the control group;the effective rate of Chinese medicine evidence score was 51.85%in the treatment group and 32%in the control group,and the difference between the two groups was not statistically significant(P=0.117).In patients with acne vulgaris with wind-heat in the lung meridian,the efficiency of lesion regression after 4 weeks of treatment with Loquat Baicalin Anti-Acne Soup reached 92.59%.The number of lesions,lesion GAGS score,Chinese medicine symptom score,CADI and Acne-QoL decreased after 4 weeks of treatment,and the difference was statistically significant.Only the number of lesions,the GAGS score of lesions,and the Chinese medicine symptom score of patients treated with tanshinone capsules decreased compared with those before treatment,and the difference was statistically significant.Adverse reactions:There were no adverse reactions in the control group during the treatment period,and there was one case of adverse reaction in the treatment group,which was considered as drug allergy,and the adverse reaction could be relieved after stopping the drug.Concludes:The effective rate of lesion regression was 92.59%in patients treated with Loquat Baicalin Anti-Acne Soup,which was higher than that of 72.00%in patients treated with Tanshinone capsule;the effective rate of TCM symptom score was 51.85%in the treatment group and 32%in the control group.The number of lesions,GAGS scores,TCM symptoms scores,psychological status and quality of life of the group treated with Loquat Baicalin AntiAcne Soup showed significant improvements compared with those before treatment.The clinical efficacy of Loquat Baicalin Anti-Acne Soup was better than that of Tanshinone Capsules in the treatment of common acne with wind-heat in the lung meridian,and it is worth promoting clinically.
