Objective:Taking rural left-behind women as the research object,we analyzed the current situation of this group in terms of social support,psychological capital and mental health and the differences in different demographic variables,and explored the relationship between the three,and verified the mediating role of psychological capital in the effect of social support on mental health.Based on the above findings,relevant suggestions are made to improve the mental health of rural left-behind women in an effort to provide assistance to the mental health practices of rural left-behind women.Methods: From January to September 2022,315 cases of rural women left behind in ten villages in Longgang Township,Kaiyang,Guizhou were randomly selected to measure the current situation of rural women left behind in terms of social support,psychological capital and mental health using the General Information Scale,the Social Support Scale,the Positive Psychological Capital Scale and the Chinese version of the Simple Psychological Status Rating Scale.The data obtained from the survey were statistically analyzed by descriptive statistics,independent sample t-test,one-way ANOVA,Pearson correlation analysis,regression analysis,and mediation effect analysis using research methods such as on-site interviews and participant observation,and based on relevant literature.Results:The results of this study show that(1)rural women left behind have a social support score of(32.85±6.14),a psychological capital score of(108.50±19.49)and a mental health score of(28.06±5.34).The social support score of rural left-behind women is lower than the national normative level and in a poor condition,the psychological capital is at an intermediate level and the mental health is poor.(2).The above three variables and their sub-dimensions differ to some extent in demographic variables such as age,education level,annual personal income,length of working hours,and location of husband’s work,respectively.(3)There is a significant correlation between social support,psychological capital and psychological health among rural women left behind.(4)There is a mediating effect of psychological capital between social support and psychological health,with the mediating effect accounting for 32.75% of the total effect,and psychological capital plays a partially mediating role between social support and psychological health.Conclusion:Social support and psychological capital are positively correlated and have a positive predictive effect on psychological capital,social support and psychological health are positively correlated and have a significant predictive effect on psychological health,and psychological capital and psychological health are significantly positively correlated and have a significant predictive effect on psychological health.Psychological capital plays a partially mediating role between social support and psychological health.Social support can directly influence psychological health,and can also indirectly influence the psychological health of rural women left behind through psychological capital.Based on the findings and results of this study,the following countermeasures are proposed to improve the mental health of rural women left behind:(1)to build a good social support system for rural women left behind to promote their psychological capital and mental health;(2)to improve the level of social support and mental health by cultivating the level of psychological capital of rural women left behind;(3)to actively pay attention to and timely solve the mental health problems of rural women left behind.. |
