Objective We used questionnaire screening to assess different sleep disturbances of PD patients, explored the spectrum characteristics of sleep disturbances, and explained the impact of multiple comorbid sleep disturbances on the clinical characteristics and HRQoL.Methods The sleep disturbances questionnaire screening was used to screen PD patients with nocturnal sleep disturbance, probable rapid eye movement sleep behavior disorder(p RBD),excessive daytime sleepiness(EDS),and restless legs syndrome(RLS).Evaluating the motor symptoms, other non-motor symptoms, and HRQoL.Analyzing the clinical features of sleep disturbances in PD patients and its impact on HRQoL.Results The most common sleep disturbance was p RBD(91/172,52.91%),followed by nocturnal sleep impairment(86/172,50.00%).The PD patients with EDS(67/172,38.95%)and RLS(52/172,30.23%)are less than others. There is a significant overlap in the various sleep disturbances in PD patients,19.19%(33/172)of PD patients had no sleep disturbance,27.91%(48/172)had only one sleep disturbance, and 23.83%(41/172)had two sleep disturbances,29.07%(50/172)had ≥3 sleep disturbances.PD patients with more types of sleep disturbances have worse cognitive function, longer disease duration, higher UPDRS score and levodopa dose, and more severe non-motor symptoms such as anxiety, depression, apathy, constipation, and olfactory disturbance. As the number of sleep disturbances increases, the HRQoL of patients gradually decreases. Conclusions Sleep disturbances are common nonmotor symptoms in PD patients and have been linked to anxiety, depression, and apathy.People with PD may suffer from multiple sleep disturbances at the same time, which is accompanied by a significant decrease in HRQoL.
