Objective:Thyroid cancer has a high recurrence rate, and postoperative health management is of great significance in preventing disease recurrence. This study collected personal information and medical record data of postoperative thyroid cancer patients from major ethnic groups in Dehong Prefecture in recent years, and analyzed their relationship with regular follow-up through statistical analysis to guide thyroid surgeons in standardized follow-up of postoperative thyroid cancer patients.Early detection and timely treatment of tumor recurrence can improve patient survival and quality of life, reduce mortality, and attempt to find ways to improve follow-up rates and improve the follow-up status of thyroid cancer patients from various ethnic groups in Dehong Prefecture. Methods:This study investigated the personal data of patients who underwent thyroid surgery from January 2015 to December 2019 in the Department of General Surgery at Dehong Hospital Affiliated to Kunming Medical University and were confirmed to have papillary thyroid cancer by pathological sections after surgery, including patient gender, age, residing in urban or rural areas, ethnicity, educational level, county and city of residence, surgical method(unilateral/bilateral),tumor diameter The factors such as whether the tumor has broken through the capsule and whether there is lymph node metastasis have a direct impact on postoperative follow-up through statistical analysis. Results :1.1 From January 2015 to December 2019,the General Surgery Department of Dehong Hospital Affiliated to Kunming Medical University admitted a total of 736 patients with papillary thyroid cancer, including 117 male patients and619 female patients, with a male to female ratio of 1:5.29;2015 gender ratio: 1:5.95,2016 gender ratio: 1:5.33,2017 gender ratio: 1:6.33,2018 gender ratio: 1:4.65,2019 gender ratio: 1:4.52;The proportion of male and female patients with thyroid papillary carcinoma admitted to our hospital varies greatly, and the incidence rate of female patients is much higher than that of male patients.1.2 In the analysis of age group composition of thyroid cancer patients in the main ethnic groups of Dehong Prefecture from 2015 to 2019,the age range of 40-50 years old was the high incidence stage of thyroid cancer, with 294 patients accounting for 39.94%,followed by 30-40 years old, with 193 patients accounting for 26.22%,154 patients aged 50-60 years old, accounting for 20.92%,and the low incidence stage of disease was under 20 years old and over 60 years old, accounting for 0.54% and 3.67%,respectively.2 From the results of this study, out of 736 thyroid cancer patients admitted to the General Surgery Department of Dehong Hospital Affiliated to Kunming Medical University from January 2015 to December 2019,488 patients were followed up,and248 patients were lost, with a loss of follow-up rate of 33.7%.2.2 This study shows that the factors that affect postoperative follow-up of patients include: patient gender, living in urban or rural areas, educational level, whether the tumor has broken through the capsule, and whether the tumor diameter is greater than 1cm;This study suggests that factors that may not affect postoperative follow-up of patients include patient age, surgical method(single/bilateral),county or city of residence, and presence or absence of lymphatic metastasis. The results of multivariate analysis showed that living in towns, educational level, and tumor breakthrough were independent positive factors affecting postoperative follow-up of patients. Conclusions: 1 Within the main ethnic group of Dehong Prefecture, there has been no significant change in the number of thyroid cancer patients undergoing surgery in the past five years; There was no significant change in the proportion of male to female patients; There is a significant difference in the proportion of men and women with thyroid cancer; The age range of 40 to 50 years old is the high incidence of thyroid cancer.2 Within the scope of the main ethnic groups in Dehong Prefecture, patient gender, living in urban or rural areas, educational level, whether the tumor has broken through the capsule, and the size of the tumor diameter have a direct impact on patient follow-up rate in the past five years.
