| Objective:Through the observation of changes in CT bone mineral density(BMD)and quantitative scoring of osteoporotic symptoms in severe osteoporosis patients treated with the Zhuang Gu Qiang Jin Tablet(ZGQJT),the effectiveness of the ZGQJT in preventing and treating osteoporosis were confirmed from an imaging perspective.Methods:This study collected 60 patients who were hospitalized for severe osteoporosis in the Third Department of Orthopedics(Spinal Surgery)at Dongguan Hospital of Guangzhou University of traditional Chinese Medicine,from June 2022 to January 2023.They were randomly divided into a treatment group and a control group,with 30 cases in each group.The control group received conventional drug treatment according to the diagnosis and treatment guidelines,while the treatment group received oral administration of ZGQJT in addition to conventional drug treatment,and were continuously treated for 6 months.The visual analogue scale(VAS)for pain,quantitative CT(QCT)BMD,and quantitative scoring of osteoporotic symptoms were recorded before and after treatment for both groups.The clinical efficacy and the BMD efficacy evaluation of ZGQJT was evaluated.SPSS Statistics software was used for statistical analysis of all data.Results:A total of 60 patients were included in this clinical study.Three patients withdrew from the study during the research process,and the final analysis included 57 patients.There were no statistically significant differences in gender,age,or follow-up time between the two groups(P>0.05),and they were comparable.QCT BMD: The difference in QCT BMD values between the two groups before and after treatment was not statistically significant(P>0.05).However,both groups showed a significant improvement in CT bone density after treatment(P<0.05).The change in BMD difference between the treatment group and the control group was significantly different(P<0.05),with a higher value in the treatment group.VAS score: There was no significant statistical difference in VAS score between the two groups before and after treatment(P>0.05).Compared with the scores before treatment,both groups showed a significant improvement in VAS scores after treatment(P<0.05).Quantitative scoring of osteoporotic symptoms: Compared with the quantitative scoring of osteoporotic symptoms between the two groups,there was no significant difference in the scores before treatment(P>0.05).Compared to before treatment,the treatment group showed a significant improvement in the aforementioned four symptoms(lumbago,lumbar and knee soreness,leg pain,and difficulty walking),meanwhile,the control group showed a significant improvement in the aforementioned three symptoms(lumbago,lumbar and knee soreness and difficulty walking)(P<0.05).After treatment,there was a significant difference in the scores for "lumbago,lumbar and knee sourness,leg pain" between the treatment group and the control group(P<0.05).BMD efficacy: Comparing the bone density efficacy between the two groups,both groups achieved a bone density efficacy of 100%,and there was no statistically significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05).Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)syndrome efficacy evaluation: Comparing the TCM syndrome efficacy between the two groups,the effective rate in the treatment group was 93.10%,and 82.10% in the control group.There was no statistically significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion:Simply improving BMD cannot comprehensively improve the various clinical symptoms of osteoporosis.The use of ZGQJT in addition to the guideline-recommended medication can better improve BMD and clinical symptoms,improve patients’ quality of life. |
