Objective:To investigate the correlation between serum interleukin 37(IL 37)level and bone mineral density(BMD)and T score of lumbar vertebrae(L1-L4),femoral neck and total hip joint in middle-aged and elderly patients with osteoporosis. Methods: To collect 58 middle-aged and elderly patients with osteoporosis symptoms in the Fifth affiliated Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University from September 2021 to August2022,according to the T score of bone mineral density, the patients were divided into osteoporosis group(n = 35,T≤-2.5)and osteopenia group(n = 23,-2.5<T<-1.0).At the same time,28 patients with normal bone mineral density were selected as control group(normal bone mass group,n = 28,T≥-1.0).To collect the general clinical data and clinical biochemical indexes of the subjects, using double antibody sandwich enzyme linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA)to detect the level of serum IL-37 was detected. The subjects were divided into groups according to age,BMI and T score.Univariate ANOVA,correlation analysis, binary logistic regression and drawing the receiver operating curve(ROC)of IL-37 to clarify the relationship between IL-37 and BMD.Results:1.Statistically significant differences in serum IL-37,bone mineral density and T score levels among groups when age,BMI and T value were used as grouping criteria,respectively;2.Serum IL-37 was positively correlated with lumbar L1-L4 BMD,femoral neck BMD,total hip BMD,T value and BMI,and negatively correlated with age;3.Low level of serum IL-37 increases the risk of osteoporosis, and age increases the risk of osteoporosis;4.Serum IL-37 has a certain predictive value for the occurrence of osteoporosis, the area under the ROC curve of IL-37 is 0.842,and the 95% confidence interval is 0.748-0.912.The optimal critical value is 94.436pg/ml,P<0.001,sensitivity is94.29% and specificity is 68.63%.Conclusion: Serum IL-37 is positively correlated with bone mineral density and BMI,and negatively correlated with age;low serum IL-37 is a risk factor for osteoporosis, and age is a risk factor for osteoporosis;IL-37 has a certain value in predicting the occurrence of osteoporosis. |
