ObjectiveTo observe the clinical effect on non-mass CMT children treated with the optimal massage scheme combined with the Four kinds of Massage Manipulation on Back(4-MMOB).MethodsThe research choosed patients with non-mass type of CMT who visited the department of Massage in Foshan Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine as the study subject.72 qualified cases were selected and randomized into the treatment group(n=36)and control group(n=36).Patients were treated with optimal massage scheme combined with 4-MMOB in treatment group and routine massage method was applied in control group. At the same time, the family members of the two groups were given family nursing health education. Both groups received treatment once a day, intervention for 5 days a week,4 weeks as a course of treatment and uninterrupted intervention for 2 courses. The patients in both groups were assessed with value of elasticity of diseased SCM(k Pa),measurement of the neck deviation degree and cervical range of motion(ROM),scores of symptom and sign before and after the treatment. The clinical efficacy of the two groups after treatment was evaluated.Results1.In the process of research, there were 2 drop-out cases in the treatment group and 3drop-out cases in the control group. Finally 67 cases finished the experiment.2.Before treatment, there was no statistical difference in baseline data between the two groups(P>0.05),meaning that the datas of them were comparable.3.Elasticity of SCM(Young’s modulus value/k Pa): There was no statistical difference in Young’s modulus between the two groups after treatment(P>0.05),but there was statistical difference in the difference of Young’s modulus between the pretreatment and post-treatment in two groups(P<0.05).Comparing within groups, there were significant differences in Young’s modulus between the two groups before and after treatment(P<0.05).4.Measurements of neck: after treatment, there were statistical differences in measurement of the neck deviation degree and cervical ROM(P<0.05).5.After treatment, there were statistical differences between the two groups in the scores of the degree of neck deviation as well as cervical ROM(P<0.05),but there was no statistical difference in the facial and SCM symmetry scores(P>0.05).6.The total symptom and sign scores were significantly decreased after the intervention in both groups, and the scores of the treatment group were much lower than the control group after treatment.(P<0.05).7.The clinical effective rate of the treatment group was 94.12% and the cure rate was50.00%,while the clinical effective rate of the control group was 72.73% and the cure rate was 12.12%.There were statistical differences in the clinical effective rate and cure rate between the two groups(P<0.05).ConclusionThe modified massage combined with 4-MMOB is more effective in treating CMT without mass than the routine massage method, and it has a advantage in improving muscle hardness, the neck deviation degree as well as cervical ROM.
