| Objective This article investigates the clinical medicinal effectiveness of Weijing Decoction and Wendan Decoction combined of western medicine in treating patients with acute symptoms of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(AECOPD)with phlegm-heat obstructing the lung. The efficiency, safety, and improvement of dyspnea and TCM syndrome scores of patients with AECOPD of phlegm-heat stagnant lung type are explored. In addition to providing more proof for the application of Weijing Decoction and Wendan Decoction in clinical medicine, this study proposes approaches to treating AECOPD for both TCM and Western medicine. Methods Using a random number generator, divide the 72 AECOPD individuals with the phlegm-heat obstructing lung type into two groups, with 36 patients in the control group and 36 patients in the treatment group. The control group was given general Western medical treatment, and the treatment group was treated with Weijing Decoction and Wendan Decoction on the basis of the control group. And both groups were treated for 10 days.Following therapy, the differences between the two groups’ inflammatory indicators(NLR,PLR,IL-6),dyspnea questionnaire(m MRC questionnaire),and TCM syndrome ratings were compared, examined, and statistically summarized.clinical effectiveness and security of the two patient groups.Results(1)Before treatment, there are no notable diversities in gender, age, disease duration,NLR,PLR,IL-6,TCM syndrome scores, and m MRC questionnaire between the two groups(P>0.05),which means the criteria are comparable.(2)Clinical efficacy: After 10 days of treatment, the treatment group’s overall success rate and the control group’s were 94.2%(33/35)and 77.1%(27/35)respectively.The clinical effective rate of the treatment group was much higher than that of the control group, and there was a statistically significant difference between the two groups(P<0.05).(3)In terms of inflammatory indexes: After 10 days of treatment, compared to before treatment, the levels of inflammatory indexes(NLR,PLR,IL-6)in the two groups were significantly reduced(P< 0.01);In contrast, the levels of inflammatory indexes(NLR,PLR,IL-6)in the treatment group were significantly lower than those in the control group(P< 0.01),and the differences were statistically significant. The findings revealed that both treatment options may lower the patients’ inflammatory indices, although the treatment group’s improved inflammatory response appeared to be more effective than the control group’s.(4)Improvement in symptoms: After 10 days of treatment, compared to before treatment, the TCM syndrome scores and dyspnea questionnaire levels of both groups decreased significantly(P<0.01).In addition, the treatment group experienced a significantly greater reduction in TCM syndrome scores and dyspnea questionnaire levels than the control group. The differences were statistically significant(P<0.01),when comparing the two groups’ differences before and after the treatment. It demonstrates that the two treatment groups’ efforts can significantly reduce the patients’ symptoms, signs, and degree of dyspnea, with the control of clinical symptoms, signs, and dyspnea in the treatment group being more pronounced than in the control group.(5)About safety: Neither of the two patient groups experienced any drug-related adverse effects during the clinical research period, and there were no glaring anomalies in the examination results of the patients’ liver and kidney functions, regularity of their urine and stools, etc. Conclusion Combining Weijing Decoction and Wendan Decoction with Western medical treatment has a positive therapeutic effect on AECOPD patients with the phlegm-heat obstructing lung type. These patients’ clinical symptoms and signs can be effectively improved, their degree of dyspnea can be relieved, their quality of life is improved, and their NLR,PLR,IL-6,and other inflammatory response indicators can be significantly improved. |
