Objecttive:According to the World Health Organization(WHO)concept of quality of life,to develop a quality of life scale for patients with ankylosing spondylitis(AS)from the perspective of patients,so as to provide an effective assessment tool for clinical research outcomes and efficacy.Methods:1.The item pool was completed by reviewing the relevant literature at home and abroad, referring to the existing quality of life scale, consulting rheumatology experts and face-to-face interviews with ankylosing spondylitis patients.2.Combined with the opinions of experts and patients, each item was analyzed one by one to form the initial scale.3.A total of 120 patients(85 males and 35 females)who were diagnosed as ankylosing spondylitis in the Department of Rheumatology, the Second Hospital of Shanxi Medical University were selected as the research subjects. The general data(gender, age, education level, marital status, etc.)of the patients were collected and the questionnaire was filled out.4.Four item analysis methods were used to screen the items of the scale and form the formal scale, including critical ratio CR value, correlation coefficient r value,Cronbach’s α coefficient and exploratory factor analysis.5.Finally,the reliability and validity of the scale were tested to form the AS quality of life scale suitable for clinical practice.Result:The Ankylosing spondylosis quality of Life scale consisted of 3 domains,4dimensions and 18 items. The physiological domain contained 2 dimensions, namely daily activity limitation and work limitation, with 5 items each, and the psychological domain and social domain had 5 items and 3 items respectively.Reliability test results showed that the Cronbach’s α coefficient of the total scale was 0.958,the split-half reliability was 0.950,and the test-retest reliability after two weeks was 0.955.Validity test results showed that: After rheumatology experts reviewed and analyzed each item of the scale,it had good reliability. The KMO value of the scale was 0.866,Bartlett’s spherical test 2=2458.697(P <0.001),and exploratory factor analysis method extracted4 common factors, and the cumulative variance contribution rate was 81.999%.It has been proved to have good reliability and validity. Conclusion:The Ankylosing spondylitis quality of life scale developed in this study has good reliability, validity and feasibility, which can be used as a therapeutic evaluation tool in clinical research, and is helpful for medical staff to comprehensively understand the health status of patients with ankylosing spondylitis.
