Objective:The objective of this study was to investigate the expression and correlation between C-reactive protein and IL-18 and IL-37 in gingival sulcus fluid in invisible correction and fixed correction by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, and to compare the effects of the two appliances on periodontal tissue in the early stage. Methods:In this study,10 patients were used as the experimental group of invisible treatment without brackets, and 12 patients were used as the control group of self-locking metal brackets fixation. And the expression levels of IL-18,IL-37 and CRP was in gingival crevicular fluid at 24 h,1 month and 3 months after correction.Results:(1)Before orthodontic treatment,in terms of expression level, there was no statistical difference of IL-18,IL-37 and CRP in gingival crevicular fluid between the two groups(P>0.05);(2)For 24 h,the expression levels of IL-18,IL-37 and CRP increased in the gingival crevicular fluid, but the expression levels of IL-18,IL-37 and CRP in the experimental group were higher than that in the control group(P <0.05);(3)After 1 month of orthodontic treatment, the experimental group exhibited a significantly lower expression of IL-18,IL-37 and CRP in gingival crevicular fluid than the control group(P<0.05);(4)After wearing the appliance for 3 months, the expression levels of IL-18 and CRP in the gingival sulcus in the experimental group were lower than those in the control group, but the difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05),and the expression level of IL-37 was higher in the experimental group than that in the control group(P>0.05).Conclusion:The levels of IL-18,IL-37 and CRP in the invisible correction were significantly higher than those in the fixed correction due to high stress stimulation in a shorter period of24 hours compared with that in the invisible correction, suggesting that the effect of the periodontal tissue in the invisible correction may be greater than that in the fixed correction.
