| Objective:An imported certain brand of orthodontic appliance,with its strong development and marketing capabilities,has gained extensive popularity and recognition.A domestic orthodontic appliance,which was gradually developing in 2003,has gradually begun to develop.This article will compare the performance between an imported certain brand of orthodontic appliance and a domestic brand of orthodontic appliance about the most common irreversible side effects in orthodontic treatment-OIEARR,it provides a certain reference for the choice of clinical appliance.Methods:Among the patients who were clinically visited in Hefei Stomatology Hospital from September 2020 to January 2023,the patients with ClassⅡdivision 1malocclusion was selected.According to the inclusion and exclusion criteria,thirty patients(240 teeth)were divided into the control group(the imported appliance)and the observation group(the domestic appliance)for analysis and research.The CBCT image taken before and after treatment was imported into ITK-SNAP software to measure the length of the root of the tooth,and then 3D reconstruction.The root model of the teeth is divided by cemento-enamel junction as the boundary,its volume was recorded to evaluate the OIEARR condition of all root surfaces of the anterior tooth groups(central incisors and lateral incisors).Its data was imported into SPSS26.0 software for statistical analysis.The OIEARR of before and after the treatment of these two appliances and the two groups also was compared and analyzed.Results:In order to clarify whether the basic information of the patient is consistent,gender,age,average treatment,etc.are tested by consistency,these results have no significant differences(P>0.05).In the comparison of OIEARR in the two groups before and after treatment,the control group and the observation group had different degrees of dental roots resorption.The volume of the two groups is significantly statistically different compared to before treatment(P<0.001).In the comparison between the two groups,the resorption volume of the control group’s the root of maxillary lateral incisor,the mandibular central incisor and the mandibular lateral incisor is 17.60±14.57mm~3,23.40±22.09 mm~3,and 20.39±17.27 mm~3respectively.The resorption volume of the observation group’s the root of maxillary lateral incisor,the mandibular central incisor and the mandibular lateral incisor is 21.31±5.61mm~3,23.10±18.55mm~3,and 18.94±14.54mm~3respectively.There is no statistically significant significance between the difference between the control group and the observation group(P>0.05).However,the resorption volume of the control group’s root of the maxillary central incisor is18.61±8.77mm~3.Compared with the resorption volume of the observation group is26.75±11.98mm~3,the resorption volume of the observation group is less.There are significant differences between the two groups(P<0.05).In the level of resorption,the ratio of non-dental root resorption of the control group is 48.00%,which is higher than the 23.33%of the observation group.The overall performance of minor and moderate resorption in the observation group is 20.83%less than that in the control group(32.50%),and severe root resorption did not occur in both groups.Conclusion:Regardless of whether it is the imported appliance or the domestic appliance,there are inevitable OIEARR during the orthodontic process.When other factors are the same,the degree of OIEARR in the maxillary central incisor who uses the imported certain brand of orthodontic appliance is lighter.However,the number of teeth in the minor and moderate root resorption in the domestic brand of orthodontic appliance appliance is less,and both groups have their advantages. |
