Objective:To investigate the current situation of sleep deprivation among primary and secondary school students in Shanxi Province, explore the factors related to the sleep time of primary and secondary school students in Shanxi Province, and explore more comprehensive and generalizable intervention strategies with the times to ensure that primary and secondary school students in Shanxi Province have sufficient sleep time, and provide clinical guidance for the prevention and health care of sleep deprivation of primary and secondary school students. Methods:In May 2021,this survey is a cross-sectional survey, using the method of stratified random sampling,in May 2021,one elementary school, junior high school and one high school from each of 117 counties(districts)in Shanxi Province,30 boys and girls were randomly selected from the fourth and fifth grades of primary school, the first and second grades of junior high school, and the first and second grades of high school,a total of 42,120students,after obtaining the informed consent of the research subjects and their guardians, using self-compiled electronic questionnaires for questionnaire survey. The questionnaire is divided into three parts, namely the General Condition Questionnaire, the Physical Activity Questionnaire, and the Children and Adolescents Sedentary Behavior Questionnaire(ASAQ-CN).WPS software was used to organize the questionnaire, and SPSS22.0 software was used for statistical description and analysis.Measurements such as sleep duration are expressed as mean±standard deviation.Theχ~2 test was used to compare the counting data of gender, habitual residence, parents’education and occupation, myopia, whether they lived in school, and family income, and the factors related to insufficient sleep time of primary and secondary school students were analyzed. The relevant factors of P<0.05 in univariate analysis were used as candidate independent variables, and multivariate logistic regression analysis was carried out,and finally the selected factors(P<0.05)were included in the logistic regression model as common correlation factors with sleep deprivation of primary and secondary school students in Shanxi Province.Results:1.The average daily sleep time of primary school students was(8.82±1.28)h,and the incidence of sleep deprivation was 80.4%.The average daily sleep time of junior high school students was(8.30±1.29)h,and the incidence of sleep deprivation was 78.0%.The average daily sleep time of high school students was(8.04±1.29)h,and the incidence of sleep deprivation was 56.3%.2.The per capita monthly income of the family, the father’s education, the father’s occupation, the number of moderate-intensity exercise in the past week, whether there is obstruction of physical activity in the past week, sedentary education on school days, sedentary transportation on rest days, and social sedentary on rest days are the main related factors of sleep deprivation in primary school students(P<0.05).3.Father’s occupation, whether he lives in school, the length of each moderate-intensity exercise, whether he gets up after each class on school day, video sedentary on school day, sedentary education on school day, sedentary traffic on school day, video sedentary on rest day, sedentary education on rest day, sedentary traffic on rest day,and rest eyes after looking at screens are the main related factors of sleep deprivation in junior high school students(P<0.05).4.Gender,mother’s educational background, whether to join a sports club, whether to live on campus, whether physical activities have been hindered in the past week, how long to get up after sitting on rest days, sedentary video on school days, sedentary traffic on school days, sedentary video on rest days, and sedentary traffic on rest days are the main related factors of sleep deprivation in high school students(P<0.05).Conclusions:This survey is the first comprehensive survey of sleep duration and sleep deprivation of primary and secondary school students in Shanxi Province. The incidence of sleep deprivation among primary school students in Shanxi Province was the highest,as high as80.4%,and the incidence of sleep deprivation among junior and senior high school students was also at a high level,78.0%and 56.3%,respectively.The average daily sleep duration and the incidence of sleep deprivation decreased with the increase of school segment, and the incidence of sleep deprivation was higher in students in the compulsory education stage.Parents should establish a correct concept of talent, quality and education, help children establish a correct concept of talent, pay attention to children’s long-term development and all-round development, lifelong development, pay attention to children’s psychological emotions, help them develop good learning and living habits, and overcome blind comparison.Schools should also actively promote the implementation of the"double reduction"policy, comprehensively improve the quality of education and teaching, improve the level of after-school services, and work together to create a relaxed and happy growth and learning environment for students. The factors associated with sleep deprivation vary from school period to school segment.Schools, families, and governments should strengthen their respective responsibilities, strictly implement the"double reduction"policy, take reasonable measures to reduce the burden of homework and off-campus training for students in the compulsory education stage, strengthen physical education classes and extracurricular exercise, ensure that primary and secondary school students spend more than 1h of moderate and above physical activity in school every day, ensure at least 3h of high-intensity physical activity per week, guide students to develop exercise habits, reduce sedentary time, use electronic products moderately, and ensure adequate sleep time.
