Unintentional injuries, which is the leading cause of teenagers death, hurtteenagers in serious impact of health, also causing significant damages to individualsand society. Therefore, the Unintentional injuries of teenagers have become one of themost serious public health problems of countries. Most injuries can be reduced oravoided through prevention. Improving residents’ safety awareness and first aid skillsis one of the effective measure.The teenagers, who are in the teenage period of physical and mental developing,are the high-risk groups of unintentional injuries. Improving their safety emergencyhealth literacy mastery rate can greatly improve the safety awareness of this group ofpeople, as well as self-help and the ability to save others. So adequate attention shouldbe given to the problem.【Objective】 To study the current status of first aid knowledge among juniorhigh school students in Jilin Province. Do comprehensive analysis on factors in orderto develop appropriate intervention strategies. Evaluate the effect of the interventionimplementation, and to provide a scientific basis for the development of interventionstrategies to improve the skills of first aid.【Methods】 Stratified cluster random sampling method was used to5131recruit students from Jilin province as investigation subjects. The topics thatquestionnaire covered include students’ general situation, cognitive of using occasionson emergency calls,CPR and Heimlich Maneuver, skills operating points and so on.Make intervention strategies based on the results of the baseline survey. Do the samequestionnaire six months later after the intervention. DID Mode and standardized effect size are applied to evaluate the effect of health education on first aid.【Results】 During the phase of baseline survey, the cognitive levels ofemergency calls,CPR and Heimlich Maneuver were low. The rate of people whocompletely grasp the key knowledge were54.3%,1.8%and2.0%. After theintervention, the three types of security first aid skills’ cognitive level of students hadimproved. The net growth rate of emergency calls, CPR and Heimlich Maneuverwere18.5%,73.2%and73.3%. The standardized effect size were2.22,1.54and2.01.DID model fitting showed the intervention implementation of the first aids skill hassome effect.【Conclusions】 During the phase of baseline survey, students’ health literacymastery rates of emergency calls, CPR and Heimlich Maneuver were generally low.The level of CPR was the lowest. Gender, grade, training history were the factors ofvarious types of security aid to grasp the extent of health literacy. After targetedintervention training, the students’ cognitive degree of emergency calls, CPR andHeimlich Maneuver were significantly improved. The intervention effected good.
