Objective1.To investigate the present situation of challenging-hindrance stressor,work-family enrichment and nurses career development of postpartum returning nurses after second birth in Jining City.2.To analyze the correlation among challenging-hindrance stressor,work-family enrichment and career development of postpartum returning nurses after second birth,and explore the mediating role of work-family enrichment in challenging-hindrance stressor and career development.MethodsBased on convenient sampling method,408 postpartum returning nurses after second birth working in four 3A hospitals in Jining City from July to September,2022 were selected as the research objects.The general data questionnaire,Chinese version of Challenging-hindrance Stressor Scale,Work-Family Enrichment Questionnaire and Nurses Career Development Evaluation Scale were used for investigation.SPSS26.0 was applied to input and analyze the data.Mean ± standard deviation(x±s)was used to describe the normal distribution of the measurement data,median and percentile were used to describe the non-normal distribution.Variance analysis and t-test were applied to compare the data between groups.Pearson correlation analysis was applied to analyze the relationship between variables.Amos 24.0 was needed to construct structural equation model and Bootstrap to test the mediating effect.Results1.The total score of challenging stressor of the postpartum returning nurses after second birth was(19.94±5.80);the total score of hindrance stressor was(15.86±4.87);the total score of work-family enrichment was(46.31±10.58),the average items of the four dimensions were arranged from high to low as follows:work-family instrumental enrichment,family-work instrumental enrichment,family-work psychological enrichment and work-family psychological enrichment;the tota score of career development was(107.11 ±21.56),the average items of the three dimensions were arranged from high to low as follows:career development motivation,work involvement and career development environment.2.Age,educational background,professional title,position,whether to participate in post-natal training,working years,working satisfaction,and family monthly income had a statistically significant effect on challenging stressor scores(P<0.05);age,educational background,professional title,position,working hours per day,whether to work night shift,whether to participate in post-natal training,working years,working satisfaction and family monthly income had a statistically significant effect on hindrance stressor scores(P<0.05);educational background,department,professional title,working years,working satisfaction and family relationship satisfaction had a statistically significant effect on work-family enrichment scores(P<0.05);ages,educational background,professional title,position,night shift,working years and working satisfaction had a statistically significant effect on career development scores(P<0.05).3.Challenging stressor was positively correlated with work-family enrichment(r=0.534,P<0.01),hindrance stressor was negatively correlated with work-family enrichment(r=-0.368,P<0.01),challenging stressor was positively correlated with career development(r=0.512,P<0.01),hindrance stressor was negatively correlated with career development(r=-0.477,P<0.01),work-family enrichment was positively correlated with career development(r=0.427,P<0.01).4.Work-family enrichment played a partial mediating effect between challenging stressor and career development,and the mediating effect accounted for 36.41%of the total effect;It played a partial mediating effect between hindrance stressor and career development,and the mediating effect accounted for 38.29%of the total effect.Conclusions1.Challenging stressor,hindrance stressor,work-family enrichment and career development of postpartum returning nurses after second birth in tertiary hospitals in Jining are at a medium level.2.There is a significant correlation between challenging-hindrance stressor,work-family enrichment and career development,in which challenging stressor promotes career development,work-family enrichment promotes career development,hindrance stressor hinders career development。3.The work-family enrichment of postpartum returning nurses after second birth plays an intermediary role between challenging-hindrance stressor and career development.
