Background: Traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)is a treasure of the Chinese nation and the key to unlock the treasure trove of Chinese civilization.The 14 th Five-Year Plan period is a strategic opportunity period for the rejuvenation and development of TCM,and a large number of high-quality TCM reserve talents is required.Higher vocational education is an important part of TCM Education in China,and over the past years,higher vocational enrollment expansion has been steadily implemented and advanced,which provides a strong talent support for the construction of China’s socialist cause and the development of TCM,and also poses a greater challenge in maintaining high quality of the cultivation of TCM talents and graduate employment.Objective: Through in-depth research on the effectiveness and influencing factors of TCM education in TCM major,this paper provides a realistic basis to establish theoretical policies that meet the development laws of higher vocational TCM education,reform education teaching in schools,and improve the effectiveness of TCM education in TCM major.Methods: Firstly,through the literature research method,this paper reviews the policy documents and literature related to TCM education and vocational education in recent years to understand the development status of traditional Chinese medicine education,so as to provide theoretical support,research direction and research ideas for the subject research.Secondly,by means of questionnaire survey,combined with work experience and teacher interviews,questionnaires are designed for current students and graduates to investigate the status quo of quality and ability of TCM of 562 students majoring in TCM and the employment status of 380 graduates in Nanyang Medical College.Finally,SPSS25.0 is used for statistical analysis of the questionnaire data,and research conclusions are drawn according to the analysis results,and countermeasures and suggestions are put forward.Results: The average score of TCM cognition of students majoring in TCM is(5.56 ± 2.43),which is in the middle level;and the development of TCM in hometown,grades,source type,and home village is significantly correlated with the level of TCM cognition(P < 0.05).In terms of attitude towards TCM,90.04% believed the scientific nature of the theoretical system of TCM,93.95% recognized TCM treatment of both symptoms and root causes,clinical efficacy is remarkable,and 81.86% believed that TCM played an important role in epidemic prevention and control,the overall average score on the satisfaction rate of TCM education in school is(20.04 ± 4.89),which is at a high level.In the survey of TCM behaviors,only 60.32% of the respondents showed great interest in learning TCM,and 70% had active learning behaviors through professional courses,MOOCs,online courses,TCM cultural environment,social practice,skills competition,graduation internship and other ways.For the analysis of the factors affecting the TCM quality and ability of students,there was a significant positive correlation between students’ learning behaviors and TCM quality and ability(b > 0,P < 0.01),while school teaching management and training strategies or teachers’ quality and ability there was no significant correlation with TCM quality and ability(P > 0.05),but there was a significant positive correlation with students’ learning behavior(r > 0,P < 0.01).Fewer TCM graduates are employed at grassroots level(23.13%).80.13% of graduates have a monthly salary of less than 4,000 yuan,90.55% have no professional title,59.93% have no high professional relevance,and 22.47% have high job satisfaction.84.47% believed that the development prospect of TCM is relatively good,and the overall average score of satisfaction with TCM education in school is(21.04±3.69),which is at a high level.For the analysis of the factors affecting Graduates’ employment satisfaction,there is a significant positive correlation between the satisfaction of TCM education in school and graduates’ employment satisfaction(b > 0,P < 0.01).Conclusions:(1)The TCM cognition level of TCM major students needs to be improved;(2)The training program and curriculum system of TCM professionals should be optimized and improved;(3)Professional teachers’ teaching ability and practical ability need to be further improved;(4)The online teaching system needs to be improved,and the online teaching ability of teachers needs to be improved;(5)Higher vocational college students’ self-discipline and learning initiative are poor,need to strengthen management and guidance;(6)The education of TCM cultural environment in schools needs to be strengthened and improved;(7)TCM major students have a high degree of TCM recognition,and there is room for improvement in TCM education satisfaction;(8)TCM major students should strengthen their learning interest and behaviors;(9)Professional internship and employment guidance should be strengthened to improve graduates’ job satisfaction.Countermeasures:(1)Follow the law of TCM personnel training,optimize the personnel training program and curriculum system;(2)Strengthen the construction of TCM teaching staff,improve the quantity and quality of teachers;(3)To carry out "Internet Plus" education and build a mixed online and offline teaching system;(4)Improve students’ self-discipline and self-cognition;(5)Strengthen the construction of TCM culture on campus,and build a diversified Zhongjing culture education position;(6)Strengthen professional internship and employment guidance to promote high-quality employment of graduates.
