| Objective: This study aims to observe the effectiveness and safety of Qingre Liangxue method combined with Ci Luo Ba Guan therapy for the treatment of rosacea acne with heat toxin accumulation syndrome,and its impact on the levels of interleukin-6(IL-6)and interleukin-17(IL-17).Methods: A total of 72 patients were recruited from the outpatient department of Jiangxi Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine.Patients were numbered according to the order of their visit and were evenly divided into a treatment group and a control group by random assignment,with 36 patients in each group.Both groups of patients received basic treatment of moisturizing and lifestyle guidance.The treatment group received orally administered herbal medicine,Liangxue Wuhua Decoction(pre-decoction)combined with Ci Luo Ba Guan therapy on the acupoints of Back Yu(Lung Yu,Stomach Yu,and Diaphragm Yu);while the control group received oral administration of doxycycline hyclate tablets.Each course of treatment lasted for 4 weeks,and a total of two courses were conducted over 8 weeks.The symptoms and signs,the Dermatology Life Quality Index(DLQI),and the serum levels of IL-6 and IL-17 before and after the 8-week treatment were recorded as the basis for efficacy evaluation.Any adverse reactions were recorded and treated symptomatically during the treatment process.Four weeks after the end of the treatment,patients who had recovered were followed up,and the recurrence rate was calculated.Finally,all data were statistically analyzed and discussed.Results: One patient dropped out in the treatment group and two in the control group during the experiment.A total of 69 patients completed the clinical trial,with 35 in the treatment group and 34 in the control group.1、Overall efficacy analysis: After treatment,the total clinical symptom and sign score,the Dermatology Life Quality Index(DLQI)score,and the serum levels of IL-6 and IL-17 in all patients decreased to varying degrees compared to before treatment,the treatment group had better efficacy.2.Comparison of the effective rates between the two groups: After 8weeks of treatment,the treatment group had 5 cases of clinical cure,15 cases of marked improvement,11 cases of effective improvement,and 4cases of ineffective improvement,with a total effective rate of 88.6%and a cure and marked improvement rate of 57.1%.The control group had2 cases of clinical cure,8 cases of marked improvement,15 cases of effective improvement,and 9 cases of ineffective improvement,with a total effective rate of 73.5% and a cure and marked improvement rate of29.4%.The efficacy of the treatment group was significantly better than that of the control group(P<0.05).3.Comparison of symptoms and signs: after 4 weeks of treatment,the efficacy indicators were comparable,and the efficacy of the two groups before treatment was comparable,and the efficacy of the treatment group in the treatment of burning,itching,tingling,and erythema was better than that of the control group,but the efficacy in the treatment of papular pustules,paroxysmal flushing,telangiectasia,tightness,and dryness was comparable to that of the control group.At 8 weeks of treatment,the treatment group was superior to the control group in terms of burning,pruritus,tingling,tightness,paroxysmal flushing,erythema,telangiectasias,and papular pustules,and comparable in treating dryness.Overall,the treatment group was superior to the control group in treating burning,itching,tingling,and erythema;In the treatment of papular pustules,paroxysmal flushing,telangiectasias,tightness,and dryness,the two groups were equally effective within 4 weeks of treatment,but after 8 weeks of treatment,the treatment group was superior to the control group in treating papular pustules and tightness,and the two groups were equally effective in relieving dryness.4.Safety comparison: No serious adverse reactions were observed in both groups,and there was no significant difference in the incidence or recurrence rate of adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion:1.The clinical efficacy of the combination of Qingre Liangxue method and Ciluo Baguan therapy in treating rosacea with heat-toxin accumulation in the skin is superior to that of doxycycline hydrochloride in improving burning,itching,tingling,and erythema in patients.2.The combination of Qingre Liangxue method and Ciluo Baguan therapy can effectively relieve various skin lesions and symptoms of rosacea with heat-toxin accumulation in the skin,with fewer side effects and stable efficacy and low recurrence rate compared to doxycycline hydrochloride,and it is worth promoting and applying clinically.3.The combination of Qingre Liangxue method and Ciluo Baguan therapy in treating rosacea with heat-toxin accumulation in the skin can reduce serum levels of IL-6 and IL-17,and its mechanism of action may be related to this. |
