| Objective: By measuring the lung function of rats with acquired pectus excavatum before and after Nuss operation,the changes of respiratory function after the formation of pectus excavatum and the effect of Nuss operation on long-term respiratory function were discussed.Methods:Ninety four-week-old SD rats were randomly divided into control group(30rats),PE group(30 rats)and Nuss group(30 rats).The control group did not undergo any treatment.The PE group and the Nuss group made funnel chest models by cutting off the 5th,6th and 7th pairs of costal cartilages beside the sternum.The PE group only made models.The Nuss group used Z shaped steel needles to perform Nuss surgery 4 weeks after the model was made,and the internal fixation steel needles were taken out 4 weeks after the orthopedic operation.The lung function was measured and compared between groups at 4 weeks,8weeks and 12 weeks after the removal of internal fixation after the Nuss operation.Results:(1)4 weeks after removal of internal fixation by mimicking Nuss surgery:(1)Comparison between control group and PE group: the difference between FEF5016.57(15.56-17.52)in PE group rats compared to 21.40(20.34-22.77)in control group was significant(P < 0.05);FEF75 13.47(13.21-14.29)compared to 17.76(16.19-19.54)in control group was significant(P < 0.05);PEF23.59(23.02-24.07)compared to control 25.45(24.81-26.38)(P < 0.05);Rl,Re,Cdyn,FVC,FEV1,FEV1/FVC were not statistically significant compared to control(P > 0.05).(2)Comparison between control group and imitation Nuss group: Cdyn 0.22(0.19-0.23)in imitation Nuss group.(3)Imitation Nuss group compared with PE group: the difference was significant(P< 0.05)between Rl 0.49(0.46-0.53)in the Imitation Nuss group rats compared with 0.50(0.48-0.53)in the model group;Re 0.31(0.30-0.32)compared with 0.55(0.44-0.57)in the model group(P < 0.05);Cdyn 0.22(0.19-0.23)was significant(P < 0.05)compared to 0.21(0.18-0.23)in the model group;FEF50 20.32(19.10-21.39)was significant(P < 0.05)compared to 16.57(15.56-17.52)in the model group;FEF75 16.57(14.40-17.77)compared with 13.47(13.21-14.29)in the model group was significant(P < 0.05);FVC,FEV1,FEV1/FVC,and PEF were not statistically significant compared with the model group(P >0.05).(2)Eight weeks after removal of internal fixation by mock-Nuss surgery:(1)Control group compared with PE group: Rl 0.45(0.42-0.49)in rats in the mock-Nuss group compared with 0.53(0.48-0.56)in the model group was significant(P < 0.05);Re 0.28(0.27-0.30)compared with 0.31(0.30-0.42)in the model group was significant(P < 0.05);Cdyn 0.25(0.23-0.27)compared to 0.19(0.19-0.23)in the model group was significant(P < 0.05);FEV1/FVC 52.58(43.52-64.37)compared to 39.38(20.20-41.79)in the model group was significant(P < 0.05);FEF75 14.23(12.32-19.99)compared to 11.21(10.61-15.55)in the model group(P < 0.05);FVC,FEV1,FEF50,and PEF were not statistically significant compared to the model group(P > 0.05).Conclusion:1.After correcting the thoracic deformity of funnel chest rats by mimicking Nuss surgery,the respiratory function improved with the removal of internal fixation and time.2.Long-term respiratory function improvement was close to normal. |
