Objective: In ERAS,the application of traditional Chinese medicine to promote the recovery of gastrointestinal function after surgery has been integrated into ERAS Based on ERAS strategy, the feasibility, safety and effectiveness of the application of ERAS in the perioperative period of emergency small intestine resection and its influence on postoperative gastrointestinal function promotion provide more evidence-based medical evidence for the promotion of the application of integrated Chinese and Western medicine in the perioperative period, and enrich and improve ERAS.Methods: In ERAS,the application of traditional Chinese medicine to promote the recovery of gastrointestinal function after surgery has been integrated into ERAS Based on ERAS strategy, the feasibility, safety and effectiveness of the application of ERAS in the perioperative period of emergency small intestine resection and its influence on postoperative gastrointestinal function promotion provide more evidence-based medical evidence for the promotion of the application of integrated Chinese and Western medicine in the perioperative period, and enrich and improve ERAS.Results: Using a retrospective and prospective randomized controlled design,35 patients who received small bowel resection in the emergency surgery department of our hospital from 2013 were collected in chronological order and assigned to the traditional group.Thirty-five patients from January 2019 to May 2021 were assigned as rapid rehabilitation surgery group(ERAS control group),and 35 patients from May 2021 to May2023 were assigned as TCM experimental group(experimental group). The traditional group used traditional surgical methods to manage perioperative patients, the control group used perioperative optimization under the guidance of ERAS concept, and the experimental group used traditional Chinese medicine dry top based on ERAS.Under quality control, the same clinical discharge index was set for the three groups, and the basic nutrition index, intraoperative basic index, gastrointestinal recovery index, postoperative complications index, length of hospital stay, the time to reach the discharge standard and so on were compared and analyzed. Conclusion: Based on the application of the concept of rapid rehabilitation surgery in perioperative patients with emergency small intestine resection, the application of traditional Chinese medicine intervention to promote postoperative gastrointestinal function recovery is feasible, safe and effective, which can reduce the psychological burden of patients, reduce the postoperative stress response, promote the recovery of gastrointestinal function, reduce the occurrence of complications, shorten the length of hospital stay and also reduce the economic burden of patients. The combination of ERAS and TCM has certain reference value.
