Objective: This study provides an objective theoretical basis for clinical practice by observing the safety and efficacy of Qizhu Huazhuo Granule combined with abdominal acupuncture in the treatment of obesity type 2 diabetes(spleen deficiency and phlegm dampness syndrome). Methods: All the cases were from the patients diagnosed as obese type 2 diabetes in the outpatient and inpatient departments of Changchun Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine. All the enrolled cases were included as required, and a total of 72 patients were included. The patients were randomly divided into the control group and the treatment group(36 cases in each group). Both groups were given lifestyle intervention(including health publicity and education, calorie control, reasonable diet, and moderate exercise). The control group was given metformin 1.0 g,twice daily; On the basis of the control group, the treatment group was treated with Qizhu Huazhuo Granule combined with abdominal acupuncture for 4 weeks. The changes in FPG,2h PG,Hb Alc,serum insulin, blood lipids, abdominal circumference,BMI,blood uric acid, and traditional Chinese medicine syndrome scores before and after treatment were observed and compared between the two groups. The data were analyzed and processed using SPSS 21.0.Results:1.This experiment included 72 patients, including 36 in the control group and 36 in the treatment group.A total of 4 cases(2 male cases in the control group and 2 female cases in the treatment group)were lost, with a dropout rate of 5.56%.Among the dropout cases,2 patients in the control group stopped taking medication midway,1 patient in the treatment group used other drugs(Dulaglutide),and 1 patient failed follow-up.The final observation included 68 cases,34 in the control group, and 34 in the treatment group.2.In terms of improving blood sugar and reducing FPG,the total effective rates of the treatment group and the control group were 82.35% and 61.76%,respectively,with significant effects in the treatment group(P<0.01);In terms of reducing 2h PG,the total effective rates of the treatment group and the control group were 76.47% and 58.82%,with significant effects in the treatment group(P<0.01);In terms of reducing Hb Alc,the total effective rates of the treatment group and the control group were 82.35% and 76.47%,with significant effects in the treatment group(P<0.01);In terms of reducing BMI,the total effective rates of the treatment group and the control group were 79.41% and 67.65%,with significant effects in the treatment group(P<0.01).3.In terms of improving traditional Chinese medicine syndromes, the total effective rates of the treatment group and the control group were 91.18% and 52.94%,respectively.The treatment group showed significant effects on abdominal distension, fatigue, obesity, dry mouth, and no desire to drink(P<0.01).4.In terms of improving blood lipids, when comparing TG,TC,and HDL-C,there was an improvement after treatment, and the effect was significant within the group compared to the treatment group(P<0.01);However,when comparing TC within the group, the effect of the control group was not significant(P>0.05);When comparing LDL-C,there was no significant improvement after treatment in the two groups(P>0.05),and there was no significant effect in comparing LDL-C within the group(P>0.05).5.In terms of improving abdominal circumference, insulin, and blood uric acid, both groups improved after treatment in terms of abdominal circumference, insulin, and blood uric acid.Compared with the treatment group, the effect within the group was significant(P<0.01);However,when comparing blood uric acid within the group, the effect of the control group was not significant(P>0.05).6.During the treatment period,no abnormalities were found in the patient’s basic vital signs; No significant changes were found in liver, kidney function, blood, and urine routine tests; No needle sickness or other adverse events occurred. Conclusions: Qizhu Huazhuo granule combined with abdominal acupuncture can improve the clinical symptoms of obese T2DM(spleen deficiency and phlegm dampness syndrome),reduce the levels of FPG,2h PG and Hb A1 c,reduce the abdominal circumference, stimulate the sensitivity and utilization of insulin, reduce BMI and blood uric acid, improve the level of blood lipids, without adverse reactions, and play a good role in regulating patients’ metabolic diseases.
