Objective: To investigate the effectiveness of Mulligan dynamic joint mobilization combined with bare-hand gymnastics on the functional recovery of patients with cervical spondylotic radiculopathy. Methods: A total of 60 patients who met the diagnostic criteria of CSR were collected from the ward and outpatient department of the Fifth Affiliated Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University from January 2022 to July 2022.They were categorized into therapy group and the control group by the process of random number table. The control group was given regular physic treatment and the therapy group was offered Mulligan’s dynamic joint mobilization in combination with free-hand exercises on the foundation of regular physiotherapy.VAS,NDI and ROM ratings were used to assess the pain level, functional impairment and joint mobility in both groups before and 2 weeks after the intervention. All data were analysed statistically using SPSS 26.0software.Results:(1)VAS score: The difference of VAS score between the two groups before the intervention was not significant(P>0.05);the difference of VAS score before and after the intervention was statistically significant(P<0.05);the difference of VAS score between the two groups after the intervention was statistically significant(P<0.05).(2)NDI score: there was no statistically significant difference in NDI score between the two groups before intervention(P > 0.05).After intervention, the NDI score of the treatment group was lower than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05).(3)Cervical ROM scores: Before the evaluation, there was no statistically significant difference between the two groups regarding joint mobility in 6 aspects of the cervical spine(P>0.05);after the intervention, joint movement in both groups was better than before the intervention, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05);after the intervention, except for posterior extension,left-sided bending and right-sided bending, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion: Mulligan’s dynamic arthrodesis combined with freehand gymnastics can alleviate the pain of patients with cervical radiculopathy and enhance the cervical dysfunction index and cervical movement of patients.
