Objective: Based on the theory of ascending and descending qi,to observe the clinical efficacy and safety of modified Huanglian Granules in the treatment of insomnia with phlegm heat internal disturbance syndrome after Parkinson’s disease, and to objectively evaluate the efficacy and safety in improving TCM syndromes and sleep quality,in order to provide new ideas and methods for the treatment of PD insomnia with TCM.Methods: A total of 72 patients with PD insomnia who were admitted to the Department of Geriatrics,Affiliated Hospital of Changchun University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from December 2021 to August 2022 were selected and divided into a treatment group and a control group, with 36 patients in each group. The control group was treated with Anshen Wendan Pill on the basis of anti PD drugs, while the treatment group was treated with modified Huanglian Granules on the basis of anti PD drugs. The course of treatment for both groups was 4 weeks. The changes in TCM syndrome scores,PSQI scores,PDSS scores, and HAMA scores of the two groups of patients before and after treatment were observed.A follow-up was conducted 4 weeks after treatment. All data were analyzed using SPSS26.0 statistical analysis software to compare and evaluate the clinical efficacy of the two groups.Results:1.Comparison of sleep quality: The effective rate in the treatment group was 88.24%,while the effective rate in the control group was 81.82%,with no statistical difference(P>0.05).2.Comparison of TCM symptoms: The clinical effective rate in the treatment group was 91.18%,while the clinical effective rate in the control group was 84.85%,with a statistically significant difference(P<0.05).3.Comparison of total scores of TCM symptoms: After treatment, the total scores of TCM symptoms in the two groups decreased compared to before treatment, with a statistically significant difference(P<0.05),and the treatment group was lower than the control group, with a statistically significant difference(P<0.05).4.Comparison of TCM single symptom scores: The comparison of TCM single symptom scores between the two groups before and after treatment has improved and has statistical significance(except for dizziness and lack of thinking in diet)(P<0.05).5.Comparison of PSQI scores: After treatment, the PSQI scores of the two groups of patients decreased compared to before treatment, with a statistical difference(P<0.05),there was no statistically significant difference in PSQI scores between groups after treatment(P>0.05).6.Comparison of PDSS scores: After treatment, the PDSS scores of the two groups of patients increased compared to before treatment, with a statistically significant difference(P<0.05).Moreover,the treatment group was superior to the control group, with a statistically significant difference(P<0.05).7.Comparison of HAMA scores: After treatment, the HAMA scores of the two groups of patients were significantly lower than before treatment(P<0.05),and the treatment group was superior to the control group, with a statistically significant difference(P<0.05).Conclusion:The clinical efficacy of modified Huanglian Granule in treating insomnia in PD with phlegm heat internal disturbance syndrome is superior to Anshen Wendan Pill.It can improve the sleep quality of patients, improve sleep symptoms, and have a certain effect on mental symptoms. It can improve the quality of life of patients, with good safety.
