| Objective:Investigate the current situation of anxiety among college students studying for the examination, and explore its influencing factors. To propose suggested measures to improve the anxiety of examining college students, and to provide reference for improving the anxiety of examining college students. Methods:A random sampling method was used to select 600 college students from the class of 2022 of a medical school for the survey.A questionnaire consisting of demographic and sociological characteristics,Anxiety Self-Rating Scale,Social Support Rating Scale,Self-Efficacy Scale, and Adolescent Lifestyle Scale was used to conduct the survey. The collected results were applied to Epi Data 3.1 and SPSS 26.0 software to create a database for statistical analysis.Results:1.191 students,or 32.6%of the total surveyed, had anxiety problems among the surveyed college students studying for the examination.2.The anxiety detection rate of each dimension was statistically significant in 3latitudes:different genders(c~2=7.633,P<0.01),majors(c~2=12.628,P<0.01)and mothers’education level(c~2=8.767,P<0.05);the differences in anxiety detection rate were not statistically significant in different ethnic groups, family locations, whether they were only children, fathers’education level, whether they were studying across majors, whether they enrolled in this institution, the type of degree they enrolled in,and the time they had been preparing for the exam.3.The scores of each dimension were compared.Among them, the scores of total social support, objective support score, subjective support score, utilization of support,self-efficacy,eating habits, sleep status, study habits, recreational activities, coping style, and life satisfaction were lower than those of the normal group among the respondents who were at different levels of anxiety;in terms of hygiene habits, the scores of the moderate anxiety group were significantly lower than those of the normal and severe anxiety groups. In terms of interpersonal relationships, the scores of the mild and moderate anxiety groups were significantly lower than those of the normal and moderate anxiety groups.4.The results of correlation analysis showed that the objective support score of social support, subjective support score, utilization of support,self-efficacy,eating habits, sleeping habits, study habits, physical exercise, recreational activities, interpersonal relationships, coping style and life satisfaction were all significantly and negatively correlated with the anxiety level of the college students in the examination(p<0.01),that is,the higher the scores of the above correlated factors, the lower their anxiety level.5.The results of linear regression analysis showed that the factors that influenced the SAS scores of the college students studying for the examination were objective support score of social support, subjective support score,self-efficacy,eating habits, recreational activities, physical exercise, and life satisfaction. Conclusion:A certain proportion of examining college students in the surveyed institutions have anxiety problems;social support,self-efficacy,eating habits, recreational activities, physical exercise, and life satisfaction are all factors influencing the anxiety of examining college students. The attention to the anxiety problem of examining college students should be strengthened, and the concept of prevention-oriented should be implemented by“the Health China Action(2019-2030)”as the leader. The scientific popularization of health knowledge to relevant populations, the improvement of their health literacy, the establishment of good behavioral habits as well as lifestyles, the regulation of the level of anxiety of examination and research college students, and the protection of their physical and mental health. |
