Observation On The Clinical Therapeutic Effectiveness Of Sinew Acupuncture Combined With Tuina Manipulation On Cervical Spondylopathy Of Neck Type

PurposeBy observing the influence of Sinew acupuncture combined Tuina manipulation on the symptoms,signs,cervical functions and living quality of patients with cervical spondylopathy of neck type(CSN),elementarily discussed the clinical therapeutic effectiveness and safety of Sinew acupuncture combined with Tuina manipulation on CSN,to provide certain references for the nonsurgical treatment of CSN and the clinical application of Sinew acupuncture.MethodsCollecting 64 patients meeting the diagnostic and enrolled criteria of CSN who visited the rehabilitation department of Kunming TCM Hospital from December 2021 to December 2022,and then dividing them into controlled group(TM group,n=32)and experimented group(SA+TM group,n=32)with a random number table.The patients in TM group were treated with Tuina manipulation,the ones in SA+TM group were treated with Sinew acupuncture combined with Tuina manipulation.Mainly focusing on the changes of Visual Analogue Scale(VAS),cervical Range of Motion(ROM)and Neck Disability Index(NDI)of the two groups before and after treatment.All information obtained were checked and settled with Excel table,and then statistically analyzed with the software SPSS 26.0.The difference of comparison is of statistical significance when(P<0.05).Eventually to evaluate and compare the comprehensive effectiveness of the two therapeutic schedules,drawing conclusion.Results1.Distribution of the cases: The female patients(n=39)of CSN enrolled in this study are more than the male(n=25).The age varies,from 25 to 66,mostly under 40.The diseased region of most cases is at single side,mainly the right.Furthermore,the disease duration varies,but most patients were treated within half a year.2.Comparison before treatment: There is no statistical differences in gender,age,diseased region,and disease duration,also in VAS,NDI,and all the directions of cervical ROM between the two groups(P>0.05).The cases of two groups were comparable in baseline information and effectiveness evaluation index.3.Comparison after treatment: The VAS and NDI of both groups were decreased meanwhile all the directions of cervical ROM were enlarged than before,the differences is of statistical significance within the TM group and the SA+TM group(P<0.05).However,the VAS and NDI of SA+TM group are totally lower,and all the directions of cervical ROM are larger than those of TM group,there is statistical significance between SA+TM group and TM group(P<0.05).4.Follow-up comparison 2 months after the last treatment: The follow-up VAS and NDI of SA+TM group were basically maintained after the last treatment,there is no statistical difference within the SA+TM groups(P>0.05);While the follow-up VAS and NDI of TM group are higher,the difference is statistically significant within the TM groups(P<0.05);Meanwhile,the follow-up VAS and NDI of TM group are higher than those of SA+TM,there is statistical significance between SA+TM group and TM group(P<0.05).5.Comparison of comprehensive effectiveness after treatment: By calculating the improvement rates according to the NDI before and after treatment,the total effectiveness rate of SA+TM group is 93.75%,higher than that of TM group(87.50%).There is statistical significance in total effectiveness rates between SA+TM group and TM group(P<0.05).6.Security assessment: During the entire course of treatment,there were no adverse events appearing on any case,all the security were assessed grade 1.Conclusion1.Both Sinew acupuncture combined Tuina manipulation and single Tuina manipulation are effective in improving the symptoms,signs,cervical functions and living quality of patients with CSN.The comprehensive effectiveness of Sinew acupuncture combined with Tuina manipulation is superior to single Tuina manipulation in the treatment of CSN,and is of more lasting therapeutic effectiveness in a certain period.2.Sinew acupuncture is observably effective and secure in the treatment of CSN.It could be generally accepted by patients,providing certain references for the nonsurgical treatment of CSN and clinical application of Sinew acupuncture,it’s worthy of clinical learning and practice.
