Objective: To observe the clinical effect of Qilianfang retention enema on ulcerative colitis with spleen deficiency and dampness stagnation. Methods: According to the diagnostic criteria of traditional Chinese and western medicine and the inclusion and exclusion criteria,72 cases of ulcerative colitis with mild to moderate spleen deficiency and dampness stagnation were randomly divided into treatment group(retention enema with Qilianfang)and control group(rectal administration of mesalazine suppository),with 36 cases in each group.During the observation, due to various reasons, and 30 cases were effective in the last two groups, with 4 weeks as a course of treatment. After 4 and 8 weeks, the indexes of TCM symptom score,TCM symptom curative effect evaluation,Mayo score,IBDQ quality of life score,C-reactive Protein(CRP),ESR,etc.were observed before and after treatment, and the data were analyzed, compared between the two groups, and the curative effect was comprehensively evaluated and judged.Results:1.After 4 weeks of treatment: the scores of TCM symptoms were statistically analyzed and compared, except for fatigue and fatigue items(P<0.05),there was statistical significance, the effect of the treatment group was better than that of the control group, and the comparison of other score items between groups had no statistical significance(P>0.05),there was no significant difference between the treatment group and the control group;after 4 weeks of treatment, there was statistical significance in the comparison between the two groups(P<0.05),and the symptoms of both groups were relieved.Comparison of Mayo scores: There was no significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05);compared within the group(P<0.05),both groups improved after treatment.Comparison of IBDQ scores: There was no statistical significance between the groups;P<0.05 was statistically compared within the group, suggesting that the quality of life of the Patients was improved.2.8 weeks of treatment: After statistical comparison of the scores of various symptoms of traditional Chinese medicine, except for dry mouth, unwillingness to drink and fatigue items, there was statistical significance(P<0.05),indicating that there is no difference;P<0.05,indicating that the symptoms of all Patients have been significantly improved. There was no significant difference between the two groups in terms of Mayo scores(P>0.05);compared with before treatment, both groups showed improvement(P<0.05).IBDQ score: P>0.05 between the groups, indicating no difference;statistically significant(P<0.05)within the group, improving the quality of life of Patients.3.After 2 courses of treatment, the ESR and CPR test results were significantly improved in both the treatment group and the control group(P<0.05),and the curative effect of the control group was better than that of the treatment group(P<0.05).4.Comparison of efficacy:(1)Comparison of Mayo efficacy: in the control group,17%were ineffective, and the total effective rate was 83%;in the treatment group,23% were ineffective, and the total effective rate was 77%,without statistical significance(P>0.05),there was no difference between the two groups of cases.(2)Comparison of curative effects of TCM syndromes: In the control group,10% of Patients were ineffective, and the total effective rate was 90%;in the treatment group,3% of Patients were ineffective, and the total effective rate was 97%.There was no statistical significance between the two groups(P>0.05).5.Comparison of recurrence rate: 3-month follow-up of effective cases,20 cases in the control group,6 cases of recurrence, accounting for 30%;treatment group,18 cases of follow-up,5 cases of recurrence, accounting for 28%.There was no statistical significance between the two groups(P>0.05),and there was no significant difference in the recurrence rate between the two groups. Conclusion: Compared with rectal administration of mesalazine suppository, retention enema of Qilian Prescription has curative effect in improving Patients’ quality of life, reducing Mayo score and regulating erythrocyte sedimentation rate(ESR)and Creactive Protein(CRP)content, and there is a difference in curative effect between the two groups Not obvious. However,in terms of improving the secondary symptoms of traditional Chinese medicine, retention enema of Qilian prescription is better than rectal administration of mesalazine suppository. Therefore,Qilian Recipe retention enema can be used to treat ulcerative colitis with spleen deficiency and dampness, and has definite curative effect.
